Shang Yuen - Des Moines

The service at this restaurant was quick (ready to take my order as soon as I walked in), friendly, and gave me exactly what I wanted. Unlike other Chinese restaurants, the food here felt more authentic. The orange chicken had real pieces of orange, the cabbage in the spring rolls was crispy, and so on. With this kind of service, this should be the go-to spot for Chinese food in this area! I also want to mention that when they ran out of soup, they gave me extra egg rolls at no extra charge. Kudos to the cashier, who not only remembered the names of the customers behind me in line but also chatted with me while I waited for my order. It's the little things like this that really enhance the overall customer experience!

The first time we tried this place, it was absolutely delicious! We ordered the sweet and sour chicken, which had a great flavor and was baked to perfection. The paprika, broccoli, and carrots were cooked perfectly as well. We also ordered the combination lo mein, which had a wonderful taste and a generous amount of shrimp, chicken, and beef. The pork egg roll we ordered was fabulous! Every meal came with crab rangoons, but we were disappointed that ours had very little filling. Despite this, we will definitely be back. The lady who took our order over the phone was very nice and polite. The prices for dinner were also great.
