The service my friend and I️ receive at The Cheese Bar was absolutely outstanding. We ordered a cheese board and were so surprised when our waiter, Brian, brought out two additional types of cheeses. He checked in constantly to make sure we were doing okay and was so friendly. Can not say enough great things about Brian’s service, professionalism and superior personality. Will recommend The Cheese Bar to everyone I know and will definitely be back! Thank you for the best experience!

Their wine selection is exceptional, and the knowledgeable staff is great at recommending something new that pairs perfectly with my delicious toastie or my all-time favorite, the olive tapenade with quark cheese! When I heard they were opening a cheese bar, I knew I had to check it out. I visited yesterday afternoon, and it did not disappoint. It exceeded all my expectations. The space is beautifully decorated and larger, featuring all the fantastic cheeses, wonderful food, and an impressive selection of wine and beer, while still maintaining that cozy, community feel I love. Bravo to the cheese mongers! I plan to visit both locations for many years to come!

You are sure to have one of the best dining experiences that Des Moines has to offer.

But it's the cheese... oh, that... read more I absolutely adore this place! Every time we've visited, the service has been exceptional. The entire staff has been fantastic! But it's the cheese... oh, that mouthwatering cheese... I dream about it and just can't get enough! I seriously need to move closer to DSM for more of this cheesy goodness! I also appreciate how knowledgeable the staff is; they've helped me explore different wine pairings. The only downside is that while the floor-to-ceiling windows are stunning, it got way too hot sitting in the sun—we were practically roasting! Even a dark tint at seating level would help. Aside from that, everything is amazing as always! My personal favorites are the tomato dip with bread, the lemon salad, and the cheese board.

Not only is the food great, but the staff is as well. The hostess was super nice and attentive, making our wait seem like nothing. Then there was a guy cutting up meat behind the cheese counter who was very engaging and even gave my date and I a small sample. To top it off, the bartender was great too! Tonight was my first time there and I will definitely be back!
