Description

A Dong offers a vibrant dining experience complemented by friendly service and a serene atmosphere adorned with orchids. While many patrons rave about the generous portions and affordability, opinions on the food quality are mixed. Some find delight in dishes like pho and rice vermicelli, while others express disappointment with ingredient mislabeling and flavor issues. The vegetarian section, although extensive, often contains fish sauce, leading to frustration among some diners. Despite these inconsistencies, A Dong remains a popular choice for those seeking hearty, flavorful Vietnamese cuisine in a casual setting.

We loved the food here! So warm and hearty perfect for a winter meal! (And otherwise The menu has lots of option including a whole vegetarian section! (Many dishes include mushroom even if it isn?t mentioned in the ingredient list so make sure to askthem to remove it in case you need it removed They have item numbers which makes it very easy to order. Restaurant hasspacious seating and the staff are very friendly! You pay on your way out and they have yummy fortune cookies to take on yourway out! I would definitely recommend this place

A secret hidden in Des Moines. When you get the noodles, they come with all of the fixings. I also had an egg roll to start which was pretty standard. I will visit them again during my next visit.

A beautiful bright interior filled with beautiful blooming orchids and a simple chic atmosphere await you when you enter the understated brick building in which the restaurant is located. We were seated immediately and our server was pleasant andquickly served our meal. It was our first visit so it took a few minutes to make a decision on what to order. My son ordered PhoTai a traditional beef noodle soup and I ordered Bun Tom Xao which is a rice vermicelli noodle salad bowl with stir friedshrimp, served with lettuce, cucumber, bean sprouts, and lemon sauce. Both meals were very fresh and light. A nice change fromheavier meals. The menu has a wide variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes to choose from. Prices on meals are very affordableand serving portions are generous. We look forward to visiting A Dong again soon.

The noodles lack texture, the soup lacks flavor, the meatballs have an odd taste, and the spring roll skin is very hard. There is nothing inherently wrong with this restaurant, but the food just doesn't taste good. I was unable to finish my meal.

The food is delicious. Plenty of great choices on the menu. The place is clean, matriculate and very inviting. Service staffing (cash register operator and waters) very friendly and accommodating. Strongly recommend that you give it a try you won't be disappointed.
