It was pouring down with rain as we were passing this pub, so we decided to call-in for a drink. It was open mic night and surprisingly full for a Wednesday night. My partner was very impressed with his Guinness and I enjoyed a white wine which comes in a small bottle. We got chatting with the regulars who were very welcoming and friendly. View all feedback.
What jimmW6523UL doesn't like about Grand Central:
On visit to Derry to see the walls, we stopped off at the The Grand Central bar with a disabled friend, who had a disability scooter. After a couple of beers we were asked to leave by the bar lady. She said the scooter was blocking her way, although there were 12 kegs of beer on the floor taking up a lot of room. The message was clear, If you are disabled you are not welcome here View all feedback.
This charming old-fashioned bar is conveniently located near the city center. The bartender was exceptionally polite and welcoming. On the Wednesday evening when my wife and I visited, there was live music. This place is definitely worth a visit!
I stopped by for a quiet pint but ended up staying for the fun. The music was fantastic, featuring talented traditional musicians and singers. Oh, and the drinks were pretty good too!
I stopped by for a final drink and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was fantastic, the music was enjoyable, and the patrons were wonderful. I had some reservations about Derry pubs because of their recent history, but I felt completely at ease in this charming little pub. The locals were absolutely fantastic.
We didn't eat here However for a drink was a wonderful bar. When we arrived, we had to suffer a non local drunk, but he was soon shown his way by barman. After which we had a fabulous evening, having been roped in to quiz night we just couldn't leave ...nearly 1.00 am and had work next day. But we had great laugh everyone friendly and bar staff were .... dead on.
