Diners rave about the flavorful fish (tofu) and chips, along with delectable chickpea burgers. While the coleslaw isn't vegan-friendly, the salad is a commendable alternative. Generous portions are served on rustic wooden boards, although some patrons prefer different presentation styles. The attentive staff is known for their hospitality, making dining here a pleasure. With tapas and a selection of tasty desserts, including a sought-after vegan cheesecake, it’s a culinary gem worth seeking out. Prices range from £10 to £30 per person.
We had lunch in this pub, while we charged our car in Effectsworth. We received a warm and friendly welcome and were delighted to be able to eat with our dog in the charming restaurant area. Many vegan options, I had the fish and my husband had the burger. Rich portions and nice food.
Many vegan options. We had fish (tofu) chips that were very delicious. Plus Kichererbsburgerfries. The Koleslaw was not vegan, so had a salad. Everything came on a wooden board where I don't like to be. Very friendly helpful. We didn't have the cheesecake. There was also a nice tapas selection.
I had the broken tofu with chips and peas; the tofu leaf was a good quality and a decent size, the dough was also beautiful and had a kind of seaweed in which there was a slightly fishy taste! Chips and peas were also good. They had a vegan starter on the menu, but I didn't have it, and a vegan cheesecake, but they were sold out.
There are numerous vegan choices available at this restaurant. We tried the fish (tofu) and chips, which were delicious, along with the chickpea burger and fries. The coleslaw wasn't vegan, so we opted for a salad instead. All the dishes were served on a wooden board, which isn't my preferred presentation. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't have the cheesecake, but there was also a good selection of tapas available.
I ordered the battered tofu with chips and peas at this restaurant. The tofu was of good quality and a decent size, and the batter had a nice touch of seaweed which gave it a slightly fishy taste. The chips and peas were also tasty. Although they had a vegan starter and vegan cheesecake on the menu, I didn't get to try them as they were sold out.
