Panera Bread - Derby
Panera Bread
Description
The restaurant boasts a reputation for good food and a welcoming atmosphere, complemented by clean surroundings and friendly staff. However, customer experiences can be hit or miss; long wait times and incomplete orders have sparked frustration among patrons. While many appreciate the dedicated management and community involvement, others highlight inconsistent communication regarding menu items. Delivery service is praised when executed well, though some areas are left wanting. Ultimately, the quality of the food keeps many returning, making this establishment a go-to choice despite occasional service hiccups and logistical challenges.

This was only my 3rd time ever eating at a Panera Bread. 2 out of the 3 times they told me they ran out of BREAD!!This time they said they only had enough to make half of my sandwich. Like what!!? This is totally unacceptable for a place that has the word Bread in their name! This would be like Taco Bell not having any Tacos... Or Pizza Hut being out of pizza. They need to get their act together! 2 out of 3 times I go they are out of bread. They should just change the name to Panera and scratch the bread part off the sign outside. Most likely will NOT be going back.
The cashier was fantastic! I didn't catch his name, but he had such a great personality. However, things took a turn when I went to the pickup area. I just wanted a slice of cheese on my half turkey sandwich. The cashier added it to my order, but he forgot to charge me. When I asked about paying for it, the food prep girl told me it would be $1.29 for the slice of cheese. Then another worker confirmed that they couldn't add anything to combo orders (soup/sandwich), which I found surprising. I thought, "Seriously? $1 for half a slice of cheese?" She insisted that I had to pay since it wasn't included. I only had my debit and credit cards with me, and I wasn’t about to swipe for just a $1.29 slice of cheese. Honestly, there shouldn’t have been any fuss over a single slice. If I were at the counter, I would have just added it for free because, one, it's not a big deal, and two, it seems unreasonable to charge that much for cheese. A little customer satisfaction would have made a big difference. It’s not the end of the world, but based on this experience, I won’t be returning to this location. I'm good as it is.
As per usual they mess up my order, ordered a pick 2 with mac and cheese and gouda melt, then a separate large mac n cheese. they forgot to give me the 2 mac and cheeses and ended up with just 1 melt. worst panera ive been to consistently.
