Contribute FeedbackThe newly refurbished Broadway restaurant presents a varied dining experience that has left patrons with mixed feelings. While some guests were enchanted by the stylish renovations and exceptional service, others faced disappointing meals and delays. Highlights included perfectly cooked steaks, attentive staff, and generous portion sizes. In contrast, criticism surrounded underwhelming menu items, long waits, and issues with food quality, such as cold dishes and awkward portion sizes. Additionally, the advertised dog-friendly policy fell short for many. Overall, The Broadway showcases promise, but consistency in food quality and service needs to be emphasized for an improved experience.
My partner and I chose to dine out on Valentine's Day, as we live very close to The Broadway and were eager to see the recent renovations. We were thoroughly impressed with the new look of the place and the food exceeded our expectations. We both ordered the rump steak, which was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Our waitress was lovely, knowledgeable and helped make our experience unforgettable. I would highly recommend this hidden gem!
Underwhelming. We ordered our lunch and paid, and then someone came and told us there was only one prwan cocktail. Ordered a cheaper starter instead but no adjustment to the bill offered. Prawn cocktail and battered mushrooms starter arrived, mushrooms were very hard andioydkt creme...cheese dip was solid. No dressing offered for meagre side salad. Prawn cocktail ok but butter frozen solid. Waited...and waited ...and waited for the mains. When I eventually went to chase it up, I was met with blank looks. The server came and told us there was a bit of a backlog and it would be five minutes. Fifteen minutes later the mains arrived. It was obvious our order had bern lost. The mains were pale undercooked sausages, and my kale and lentil pie came with frozen mixed veg and a large expanse of empty plate. When the server asked how our meal was, we said it was pretty disappointing and he agreed!
Big sign outside saying dog friendly. It isn't at all. You can sit outside in the cold and dark (like anywhere else) but then you are expected to leave your dog as it's bar service only whilst you order! Don' t advertise as dog friendly...if you don't have an inside area where dogs are allowed!
We had an early evening meal and because I’m awaiting a gall stones operation have to be careful about fats.Dark haired barman was outstanding and took time to listen about my food requirements and my request to tweak the meal.He checked with Ben the kitchen...manager and relayed it back to me .The sea bass was delicious cooked to perfection with new potatoes and asparagus. So thank you to Ben for producing me a lovely meal and big thanks to the dark haired barman for being very helpful and I’m sorry I didn’t get your name.My friends mixed grill was brilliant too and we can’t wait to comeback.
Excellent as always. We repeatedly come back to the Broadway and always feel welcome. The staff are top notch and the food is amazing. stars every time.
