I recently visited this coffee shop for the first time and was impressed by its stylish decor and popularity. The snacks looked incredible—though I had to resist the urge to try one! The coffee I ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. I would have appreciated a wider selection of sizes for the drinks. They also have a variety of items for sale, including a card section. What Karen Mather doesn't like about The Bottle Kiln:
Visited today (with my springer spaniel) and sat in the lovely gardens. However, we were asked to move as dogs were not allowed in the gardens. Asked to move to the dog friendly area, which is basically 2 benches and 2 tables at the side of the entrance. I asked why dogs were not allowed and the lady just said it has always been that way. I really think this needs reviewing. Dogs are such a huge part of life nowadays... View all feedback.
The prices are surprisingly high for inexpensive items, and the food is quite costly and not very good.
I had a lovely experience at this restaurant. The coffee was wonderful, and the cheese scones were served warm, although the cheese on top had become a bit hard. I would definitely love to come back again!
Charming cafe with a nice outdoor seating area when the weather is nice. They offer a good selection of food, drinks, and cakes. The service is excellent, and there are delightful shops nearby to explore.
Our first time of visiting the Bottle Kiln and we had a lovely time, enjoying a coffee and then browsing in the shop. The displays are very well arranged with much to tempt you. Nicky was extremely helpful in explaining their gift wrapping service and late night opening in preparation for Christmas. I found the gifts, accessories etc to be of very good quality and reasonably priced. The Christmas decorations were a bit more classy than depending upon moving parts and lights to make them appealing! I know this sounds as though someone connected with the shop has written the review, but I'm really an ordinary punter who enjoyed the experience!
I've been lunching with family and friends at The Bottle Kiln for a couple of decades. It's a great mix of quality giftware and a good resaurant. I recently ordered a fritatta, which was beautifully prepared. Entrees and coffee are consistently good (I never have room for dessert). The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I highly recommend The Bottle Kiln.
