Feedback
The Foundry, a charming eatery in Denver, North Carolina, offers a unique blend of great atmosphere, attentive service, and a diverse menu. While patrons have lauded standout dishes like chicken alfredo and fresh green beans, some experiences have revealed inconsistencies, such as lukewarm entrees and overcooked special pizzas. Despite those occasional missteps, many diners express satisfaction with the overall dining experience, praising the professionalism of the staff and the restaurant's casual yet chic ambiance. With mid-range pricing and an inviting vibe, The Foundry remains a recommended spot, ideal for both cozy dinners and special celebrations.
The week special pizza’s was dry and overcooked while the pizza chicken alfredo was perfect and tasty. the chopped salad with garnel well, but the garnel would be better if grilled.
We had a lovely dinner with friends. Service was excellent. The manager came to our table to check on us! Great night!
Some of the food came out luke warm not hot. They closed the kitchen before we could order dessert or coffee. Just felt like they wanted to push us out the door. We have eaten at the Foundry several times and it has always been very good. We chose the Foundry for our 50 year anniversary dinner with out of town relatives and came away pretty disappointed. It will be awhile before we go back there.
I have a few thoughts to share about this restaurant. I really enjoy the ambiance and atmosphere; it's perfect for gatherings and parties. However, I did feel a bit embarrassed by the hostess for not having a reservation, despite there being plenty of open tables when I arrived. I ended up waiting for over 10 minutes, which seemed unnecessary. As for the food, it didn't meet my expectations. I ordered fish and chips, and the fish had an overpowering odor and taste that made it inedible. Another person at my table got a BBQ sandwich that was doused in sauce so spicy that it was also unmanageable. I recommend being cautious with certain menu items and asking questions before placing your order. Most dishes are priced over $15, so it's wise to ensure you choose something you'll enjoy.
I think we would be fair in saying we expected more for our money. Upon arrival (with a reservation) we were seated and it was at least 10 minutes before the wait staff appeared, apparently they were in a team meeting which is understandable but thehostess should have at least mentioned it may be a few minutes before our waitress/waitor would be by the table. At that pointsince there were 2 hostesses and it wasn't busy yet it would have been nice if she would have at least brought us some waterwhile we waited. Our waitress Louisa was wonderful but that was about it. We ordered the Prime Rib, apparently that is an everySaturday thing but it wasn't listed on the chalk board at the front nor in the menu so I had to ask. We decided to have a saladbefore our dinner and it was okay but not much for $5 extra dollars. When our Prime Rib arrived it was basically flavorless, cooked decent just no seasoning and not very warm. The Au Jus was also a little bland. Apparently they rotate sides so while theonline menu we viewed before arrival said whipped potatoes our Prime Rib came with a giant baked potato. That was totally finewith us except it was barely warm enough to even melt the butter. We enjoyed our beer and decided to have an after dinnercocktail so we ordered an espresso martini. Although it tasted pretty good it was made incorrectly. The waitress explained whatthe bartender used and I guess it is a mixture of alcohols and Bailey's Irish Cream which is nothing like the recipe for anespresso martini, the only thing that was as described in the menu and in the recipe was the 3 coffee beans on top, so that wasanother let down. Basically we wouldn't recommend this place and honestly the only reason I'm giving the 3 stars is because Louisa was sweet and took great care of us. I don't think our experience was worth the $120 bill, we were underwhelmed to saythe least.
