Sassafras American Eatery, Highlands

It’s been a while that I went to a restaurant and LOVED absolutely everything about it. We were in a group of 5 and ordered different dishes. Tried each others food and ALL the group ordered would be things I would happily choose to eat myself. They also have fresh squeezed juices! Great atmosphere and service as well. I will come back!

Great service, I hoping I get this name right Jada behind the bar is special. I had the chicken and waffles which I order out alot. In my opinion the best chicken in waffles I have had anywhere period no questions asked. My wife had the poutine and it was also outstanding. Great place, great vibe, great service, Bravo!!!Food: 5/5

Quaint. Enjoyed the decor. Good customer service. Outdoor seating is available. There was no waiting. Parking on the street. A space was available right in front of the restaurant when we got there! They’re only open certain times of the day. If you’re looking for something different than a typical chain restaurant I would recommend this place.

What a find! Came in for brunch, a few minutes before they closed, but was met with friendly faces. The menu is good, a bit on the spicy side but so worth it! I had the shrimp and grits and the beignets... Finished up with a lavender latte. Cannot recommend these high enough. Our waitress was good and there but a little aloof.Very well decorated! Even though the bathroom seemed in disarray, one stall didn't work, the rest of it was like a fantasy place! Summer garden is available for the cooler evenings and days. Thumbs up!!!

We all were so impressed by the staff, atmosphere, service, meal and beverages. We really wish we could’ve ate there but had to get takeout because we were running late for an event. This place is fantastic and definitely hope to come back the next time we’re in town.Food: 5/5
