Pho Bom - Denver
Pho Bom
Description
Pho Haven promises an intriguing culinary experience, boasting standout dishes like their passion fruit boba and notable vegetarian pho, celebrated for generous portions and rich broth. While many patrons find the Vietnamese egg rolls hard to beat and appreciate the welcoming service, some dishes, such as the combo noodle bowl, fall short with overcooked meat and bland flavors. Despite recent price increases and competition, loyal customers appreciate the restaurant’s unique offerings and the lively ambiance. For those seeking bold flavors and freshness, eating in-house may enhance the overall experience. Pho Haven may not always meet everyone’s expectations, but it remains a beloved spot for many.

The people there are always friendly and the steak pho and boba drinks are always delicious. We prefer the spicy broth. We’ve tried about 7 of the boba flavors, but blueberry seems to be our favorite so far. The pho is better when you eat in in person than when you order it to go since it’s nice and fresh.
The pho is reasonably priced. Definitely has really big portions. Definitely going to take some home. The Vietnamese eggrolls are some of the best I've had. And there boba is great too.
I ordered the passion fruit boba, which was excellent—definitely a hit. The combo noodle bowl I tried was decent, but the egg rolls lacked the flavor I'm accustomed to. The beef and chicken were a bit dry, which was surprising since the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Overall, the spices and seasonings felt somewhat bland compared to what I'm used to, and the fish sauce for the bowl was also lacking in flavor. It might just be a matter of this location catering to a different crowd's preferences. Personally, I was hoping for more robustly marinated meats and a sauce with a stronger fish oil taste. While it was good, I would consider returning; it just didn't meet my usual expectations. I did feel the combo bowl was reasonably priced for its size, but the quality of the overcooked meat left something to be desired.
Let me start by saying I eat at many Pho places and what's amazing is that each is slightly different, seasonings, spices, cook style etc. I went here based on Google reviews, and it was good, but not my favorite. I had the passion fruit boba, which you can never go wrong with. Was perfect. I had the combo noodle bowl. The egg rolls were not as flavorful as I'm used to. The beef/chicken was dried out, which was strange since the shrimp was cooked perfectly! The spice/seasoning was somewhat bland in comparison to what I've had, and the fish sauce for the bowl was bland, too. This might just be done because the audience around this location prefers it. Personally, I wanted bold marinated meats and sauce that tasted like fish oil! It was good. I'd go back. it just wasn't what I'm used to. Felt the combo bowl was well priced for the size, but not the quality of the overcooked meat.
