What User doesn't like about Lion's Lair:
I went to see a friend's band and this wasn't a bad place to see them. it's intimate enough that if you want to get up close to the stage it won't be a problem but it's big enough that if you want to find a corner and talk to someone, that won't be a problem either. they have a $10 minimum on c.cards and there weren't any drink specials to make you smile (a pint of PBR was 5 bucks) but the vibe was right. I will never step foot in this place again. It is completely rundown and in terrible condition. It’s astonishing how unsafe it feels—it's a place where you have to be cautious just to make it out. I saw people using drugs right by the Walgreens and even urinating on the walls. It was the most dangerous environment I've ever encountered, and I only went because my friend wanted to check it out. I was there for about 30 minutes, didn’t even order a drink, and quickly called an Uber to get out of there safely. This place is a dump, and I really think the health department needs to be made aware of how bad it is. It’s not suitable for anyone.
This place is fantastic! It's a laid-back dive with affordable drinks, an energetic music atmosphere, and a wonderful staff. My band has performed here several times, and we always have an amazing time. The crowd is lively, and the music is loud. A visit to the Lion’s is always an adventure!
Super dive bar on Colfax. Great servers, well-made drinks. Went for a bi-monthly cabaret night and it was way better than I expected. Performers were unique and fun to watch. Set ground rules and then made it a fun night for everyone. Will be going back.
Comedy nights on Monday and Tuesday's are the best.
