What Hunter Ringenberg doesn't like about J J Bistro:
Was excited by the good reviews but came away very disappointed despite the good service. Got a take-out order of combo Lo Mien, egg drop soup and egg rolls. The egg rolls had no flavor other than the oil they were fried in and the soup (usually my favorite) lacked any flavor as well. The Lo Mien sauce tasted like pure sugar and was very thin, dripping off the noodles. I felt the price was too high for what you get f... View all feedback.
I love this place. the owners are wonderful. Get their kung pao chicken and my wife and I both love their chicken fried rice.
The food is not very good. I love sweet and sour soup and this place had almost nothing in it and the flavor was a bit sweet with lots of black pepper. The worst I 've had anywhere. My meal had slimy shrimp with mixed vegetables. Greasy oil dripping egg rolls. Nothing inside but cabbage. Tofu app was ok. The fortune cookies were garbage. They smelled so bad and stale I dare not take a bite of one. The fortunes inside all said Manscaped on them (WTF? what does that word have to do with Asian food or fortune cookies?! We only had a handful of cookies and most of them were treat fortunes inside. Like seriously they 're all that much the same? Won 't order again.
Another great lunch at JJ's Bistro (Orangy Chicken today). The food never disappoints and I love the location, just 3 blocks from Coors Field! Easy walk from the office.
JJ's Bistro is a jewel of Real Denver in the decaying hellscape that Downtown is becoming. Do you want a good portion of tasty food quickly from hard working people instead of a soulless corporation that relies on TikTok gimmicks? Then get some pick up at JJ's. No frills, just a cozy atmosphere where it feels like you're eating with family at a great value. I recommend the Green Curry Tofu (level 3 spicy), the General Tso's chicken, and the Triple Delight with Garlic Sauce.
Immaculate food, flavors, service. hard to find delicious restaurants for suck a good price like this these days
