Super great food in a nice and chill atmosphere. Staff were nice and courteous, checking on us and asking if we needed anything at the perfect time. Bathrooms are spotless with no water on the counter or trash on the floor. Food came out right after we ordered, we ordered the miso soup, takoyaki balls, yellowtail jalapeño, and the sushi for two which was more than both of us could finish. Fish was soft and melted in... What Julie's bites doesn't like about Hasu Sushi:
I ate there about 1-2 years ago and the food was great and the place was packed. This time the food was really bad, no people to speak of, and no heating, so they put a space heater at our table. I won't go back View all feedback.
Best sushi I've had in denver. Every one was very friendly they also made us a special roll on the house that made a heart on the plate. Highly recommend.
We were seated right away but it was a while before we were greeted and got our drinks ordered. The waitress was wiping down a table and we had to call her over to take our order. We got our soup right away but waited a while for edamame. The sushi was creatively plated and was good. We ate it all. The waitress did not come and ask us how we liked our food but did offer to refill my drink. It was fine but slow to take order and get food.
Went to this restaurant for the first time this weekend and it was awesome! So nice to find a really good Sushi restaurant that has great food and ambiance. We'll be back!
The service was really terrible. We waited 30 minutes to order drinks, another 15 to order food, the waitresses slammed glasses down when refilling water, and were hard to find throughout the meal when we needed an extra silverware set, etc. I've been a server for years and understand how difficult it is when you are short staffed and busy, but the solution is not to (A) overseat and overwhelm your staff, front or back of house, or (B) to ignore your tables. The food was good, so it's a shame that the service was so poor. The waitress completely missed 2 items we requested and it took so long to order/track her down, it wasn't even worth bringing up.
I took my wife to Hasu for the anniversary of our 10 year meeting. I had indicated this when I made a reservation with them. They did not mention this when we arrived or any time during the meal. The fish was not very good. We ordered the Toro Tuna nigiri, which we have enjoyed at other sushi restaurants. It was expensive, as we expected, but was sinewy and not at all tasty. The rest of the sushi we ordered was also subpar and we barely ate half of it despite having come in with quite an appetite. Our server cleared our dishes with a lot left on the plate, telling us we must not have been hungry. We went home and had leftover pizza. Very disappointing experience. We will not return.
