Tucked off Colfax, Fox Run Cafe is a charming, hospitality-driven brunch destination known for warm service, spotless kitchens and standout items like banana bread, chicken biscuits, house hot sauce and excellent breakfast potatoes. The menu and coffee draw regulars for a relaxed, people-watching Saturday-morning vibe. Occasional inconsistencies—underseasoned or cold dishes, a potato-heavy, pricey burrito and the removal of ricotta cream from lemon ricotta pancakes—temper otherwise enthusiastic recommendations, but friendly staff and flavorful highlights keep patrons returning.
So, I was going to give a 3 but decided a 4 as the ambience and people were nice. Let me explain. I ordered the chicken biscuit and my wife got the quiche. Neither had much flavor due to the lack of seasoning. I mean, even a little salt would have helped. Plus my wife's quiche was cold. It’s a nice place and they are doing things right overall but, y’all need to revisit the spice rack and put some flavor into your items. For the price, not a value.
Got a breakfast burrito today and was kinda disappointed. It was 80% potatoes and barely any eggs or meat. Not to mention it was about $20 after tip. I used to love coming here for the lemon ricotta pancakes but they stopped putting the ricotta cream on there which made the pancakes 1000x better. Not sure what happened to this place.
We were in town for a conference stopped by this place for brunch. First off, the server was so upbeat and fun (I don’t remember her name, sorry girlie! and the overall service was great. Second, the food was so tasty! The banana bread was the PERFECT texture crispy on the outside but soft on the inside and the butter complemented it well. I got the chicken biscuit and the flavor was amazing! The potatoes were also the perfect texture I think they may be the best breakfast potatoes I’ve ever had. 10/10 would recommend will definitely come back the next time I’m in Denver.
I'm going to miss this place!
