This restaurant is located in a hotel on the Metro State campus. We stayed there based on its proximity to Ball Arena. Many of the employees are hospitality program students. The restaurant has a little style, but is not fancy. The menu is primarily burgers, sandwiches, bowls and salads. The food was good, but not interesting. Our server, Kyle I believe, was outstanding. What KelseyJ doesn't like about Degree Metropolitan Food Drink:
Terrible service. Got our appetizer before waters. And our food before our drinks. Waiter did not come back with ketchup. Order 2 of the same drink and they tasted and looked different. View all feedback.
Eating was good, but in the round it was in a school cafeteria.
We have been here many times and had great experiences but for the 4 of us for dinner, this time was a total bust. Our server seemed to be out of sorts even though the restaurant was only half full. 2 of us ordered steak frites, mine Med Rare and one Medium. When my salad came I asked her for silverware since they had only left 3 sets. 5 minutes later I got up and asked our server, who was in the open kitchen area, if I could get that silverware, no silverware so my friend gave me his. About 15 minutes later, the server brought the silverware and our steaks giving the Medium to me to which I replied, "I 've got the Med Rare, that one is for my friend '. The glare I got it was if I had inconvenienced and insulted her. She then walked away from the table without a word snubbing her nose in the air. I didn 't think helping her know where to put the food was that bad. Well my steak was actually Rare, blue red and cold but I was hungry so I ate it. My friend 's was more rare than Med Rare being red and cool inside which she could not eat. Once 3 of us were done eating the server finally came back to the table asking how the meal was obviously, not so good. She took my friend 's undercooked steak back to the kitchen where they simply threw it on the grill for a couple more minutes. So overall a bad experience. Server was unattentive and rude at best, food wasn 't as ordered and slow with a half empty restaurant. Don 't know what happened to this place in the past month since we were last here but we won 't be coming back.
Four of us stopped here for a pre-Colorado Avalanche meal and drinks. It's a short walk from Ball Arena which was convenient. While the restaurant is run by Metro State University's School of Hospitality, we enjoyed our experience. Flat bread pizzas were well balanced, delicious, with crispy crusts. We especially liked the salsa as it was mildly spicy and freshly made. Drinks (Jamo Juice and Upslope beers) were great. Service was quick and efficient. No complaints and we'll likely be back.
This place is very very busy and not able to accommodate large volumes. We were sat promptly only because we made a reservation but we sat there 15 -20minutes or so before a waitress came by for our order. We almost left at that point but drinks came and we decided to stay because we needed to eat before our concert and this was closest. 30 minutes past and we finally decided that we had to cut our losses and eat at ball arena because our event was starting within 30 minutes. The waitress apologized and said they were running behind. It would have been nice to have communicated that sooner and we wouldn’t have continued to sit waiting for dinner.
Very hard working students. Great service and food.
