We were eager to visit the first Chipotle location. The signage is impressive. However, we were let down by the small interior and limited seating. We opted to take our food to a nearby picnic table. The service was average, but the food was excellent. It was fresh, warm, and the guacamole was green, not brown. View all feedback.
What Darian Brakus doesn't like about Chipotle Mexican Grill:
Avoid ordering from this restaurant at all costs! I have ordered 20 meals over the past 4 months and 3 of them were missing food, while other orders were incorrect. If you are in Denver and have the time and (Most importantly) love Chipotle, then scout out this location. It is the original location! The menu and the taste are the same. I recommend ordering ahead because there is very little room at the location. But, if you can grab a seat, it completes the experience.
For Chipolte fans, this is the original restaurant started back in 1993. Same food as all the others. Cool place to stop in if you're in the area.
First time in the original Chipotle. When I got there, they were testing the temp of the food, which I've never seen ever in my 20 years of going to Chipotle. It was THE best food I've ever had at Chipotle. The taco shells tasted incredibly fresh and the meat was well seasoned. I live 20 miles away, but will be stopping regularly on my way home from school from now on!

The location on Evans Avenue in Denver is particularly problematic. When trying to rectify the situation or get the missing items, customers are led through a convoluted phone tree with no option to speak to a real person. The recorded message merely states that team members may not always be able to answer the phone, but in my experience, they never do. This is extremely concerning for those with food allergies, as incorrect or missing items could pose a serious health risk.
This restaurant is absolutely awful. They only accept online orders, and the guy with earrings is consistently rude and unhelpful to customers. Every time I visit, I have a negative experience. Avoid this place unless you're willing to wait in a 45-minute line with only 4 people ahead of you. Chipotle is a better option.
