The food was decent, but the service left much to be desired, especially considering it wasn't busy. I felt disappointed overall. On the bright side, it's a lovely venue for music.

I visited the restaurant during Restaurant Week and found the food to be wonderful and innovative, though a bit pricey, and a few dishes were slightly too spicy for my taste. The live music added to the overall enjoyment of the experience. I had requested a booth when making my reservation several weeks in advance, but it seemed that a couple who I believe didn't have a reservation ended up with the last available booth. However, the staff was accommodating and moved us to a booth after a little while. I have fond memories of visiting Baur's as a child in Denver, and this restaurant truly lives up to that legacy.

I dined before a show at The Buell and made sure to emphasize our tight schedule to our server. Unfortunately, they vanished at key moments, which led to delays in our food and check arriving. This meant we had to take our desserts to-go and eat them during the intermission—definitely not the ideal dining experience, but they were quite good. It seemed that participation in Denver Restaurant Week limited the menu options, but we managed to share two three-course meals for $35 between four of us. This might be a better venue if you're just looking to enjoy the music rather than having a pre-dinner outing at DPAC.

We will not be returning to Baur's after our experience. We made reservations for 6:00, well before our show at 7:30 and it took well over an hour to get our food. They started taking boxes out so people could box their uneaten food before their shows. We ended up getting our 2 cheeseburgers at 7:15 and had to quickly eat what we could and then run our food back to our car just to make the show. I understand why the restaurant wasn't busy on a Friday night. We typically like to be sympathetic to waitstaff and those in the service industry but this was an unacceptable experience. My burger was served cold, and was certainly not worth $15 dollars. There are hundreds of restaurants in downtown Denver, go ahead and pick another restaurant. As a side note the hostess was lovely, and made the experience slightly better.

After several enjoyable experiences sitting at the bar, we were disappointed by our visit on Saturday. We had a reservation and sat in the bar, but the server bypassed us several times and checked on tables on both sides without even acknowledging us. Thankfully the manager noticed and came to check on us (and did so throughout the evening, and was lovely). Food was average, not great. Several bathroom fixtures were marked as out of order. Overall, it feels like Bauer's needs a little better attention to staffing, food, service and maintenance before we'd plan to return.
