Absolutely the best! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the pulled pork was fantastic!
What a delightful spot on South Pearl Street. The first-floor decor is fantastic, though I was disappointed the rooftop deck wasn’t open—especially on such a beautiful sunset evening. Our waitress was very friendly, though I unfortunately forgot her name. I'll admit we might have seemed a bit picky since there were a few hits and misses: The Fried Green Tomato Caprese was delicious, with great flavor and a perfect crisp on the fried tomatoes. The Bacon Scallops dish was misleading. As you can see in the photo, the bacon was a large, fatty slice—not quite like pork belly and more like a pork chop mostly fat. My friend tried to pick out the meat, but it wasn’t what we expected from the menu description. Despite that, the flavor was good, and the server kindly removed the dish from our bill. I tried the Vinho Verde wine, which was excellent, then switched to prosecco that surprisingly tasted flat, even though it came from a smaller individual bottle. Still a mystery. Also, when I went to the restroom, the toilet wouldn’t flush and had no water, so I had to notify the staff, who were very apologetic. Overall, it was a good experience—I would just suggest revising the description of the Bacon Scallops.
