Bodhi Leaf is a small café with a delicious and wide variety of vegan dishes from around the world, with a focus on Indonesian and Chinese cuisine. The soto soup was generously sized and flavorful, but the "green Thai curry" was lacking traditional Thai ingredients such as coconut milk, galangal, lemongrass, basil, and chili. It tasted more like a pesto than a curry. The papaya salad didn't actually contain papaya and the rice crisps resembled Mexican tortilla chips. Overall, Bodhi Leaf is a great spot for vegan food, just be cautious about the accuracy of non-Indonesian food descriptions.
The food is delicious and there are so many options to choose from! The staff is friendly and the place looks great!
Bodhi Leaf is like a taste of Ubud in the center of Denpasar. Food was fresh and delicious and the servings were generous. I went with my Indonesian partner, who is quietly skeptical of veg places (most don’t cook vegetables as well as the local non-veg warungs). He was impressed by his Kimlo Soup and also my Macrobiotic Plate. We both loved the decadent Choco bowl for dessert. The food here is a good mix of touristy health food and local ingredients/flavors. We will definitely be back to try other menu items and grab some Ubud Raw Chocolate from their fridge. A little pricey for the area, but still a good value.
This restaurant offers excellent value for money. The portions are generous and the Indonesian food is delicious. One great aspect is that they allow you to control the level of spiciness with the sambal on the side. They also offer a delicious and well-packed falafel wrap for airport customers.
