Description

Nestled in the remote settings of rural Tasmania, this quaint cafe offers a unique dining experience that may not be for everyone. While some reviewers were appalled by the lack of friendliness and slow service, others found it to be a gem worth discovering. The menu, though limited, offers fresh and creative food that is well-prepared. With stunning views, delicious food, and a laid-back atmosphere, this cafe on Bruny Island is a great spot for coffee, breakfast, or a relaxing lunch. Patrons can enjoy the beautiful surroundings and even catch a live music gig while sipping on local wines and beers. Although prices may lean towards the higher end, the experience and quality of the food make it well worth the drive. Whether you're looking for a warm fire, a beautiful view, or a delicious meal, this cafe at Dennes Point has something for everyone - just be prepared for a possibly frosty reception from the staff at times.

Absolutely awesome. Those reviewers who don’t rate the cafe don’t “get” Bruny. It’s quirky, laid back and different. It runs on island time not city time. Just ring in advance. Now the food stunning. Last night was Greek night. Set menu saw amazing dip, Spanakopita Moussaka, beautiful desserts. Service great. And all accompanied by local wines and beers. If your lucky enough to be up north when it’s open pop in early for coffee and cake or a great lunch. All in all. A great experience .

Agree with negative reviews. Disappointing menu choices and opening hours. Rude service and shabby maintenance of the deck. Wasted potential.

A rather long drive on gravel for nothing as it is closed and only opens on weekends if at all. They should advertise this for a fact on Google so people don't waste their time driving there for nothing.

Went here for breakfast as a family. Was rather disappointed as on maps it says it is kid friendly. This place is far from kid friendly. Don’t have a kids menu and most items kids wouldn’t eat. Also in the scrambled eggs, shell was present and went letting the staff know wasn’t even given a apology as seemed they didn’t even care and was rude. Staff care factor during our whole dining experience was appalling.

We had the same bad experience as Phillip K twice! Just an awful customer service experience that left us feeling unwelcome. First time we went in to order take away coffee and we’re told off for not bringing our reusable cups. So, next time we thought do the right thing and order in but the interaction with the “unhappy masked woman” was so unpleasant we ordered take out anyway. So, I can only comment on the coffee it’s ok. Would have liked to try the food but…
