The inside is decorated very nice. The host was an old gentleman that was very kind and friendly. Me and my husband ordered the ranchero fajitas. When they came out they were not sizzling like most restaurants it wasn’t hot at all. When we ate it it tasted like dish water and soap. Absolutely incredible! I had the crab, lobster, and shrimp Chile rellano. Absolutely wonderful! Wife had the sour cream chicken enchiladas. Everything was very fresh. There were a few drawbacks during my visit. The restaurant felt as hot as the outdoors, which was around 98°F, and we were frequently disturbed by annoying flies, which took away from the overall dining experience. Although the waitstaff was very friendly and attentive, we faced a language barrier that led to some mix-ups with our orders—such as receiving Spanish rice instead of the Poblano Rice we had specifically requested. The humidity indoors also caused our tea and water glasses to empty quickly, and we often had to ask multiple times for refills and more ice, as it melted rapidly. Despite these minor issues, the outstanding food and enjoyable atmosphere more than made up for the inconveniences. Rustico offers the best Mexican cuisine in Denison; just make sure that the person taking your order fully understands your requests.
I finally visited Rustico after a weekend at Lake Texoma, and it has quickly become one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in the area. It takes the lead for dine-in experiences, while we still prefer Cielito Lindo for takeout. The food at Rustico is clearly prepared with fresh, whole ingredients, and you can truly taste the difference. We ordered the chicken queso enchiladas (which were delicious), tortilla soup (one of the best I’ve ever tasted), and steak fajitas (absolutely delightful). We also tried the mambo taxi, which was exactly what we expected, and the sangria Bloody Mary. The chips were warm and fresh, and the salsa was fantastic. Even though they were short-staffed, the service was excellent. Just be patient; it's definitely worth the wait. I highly recommend it!
The food at this restaurant is exceptional! You won’t experience flavors like these anywhere else. The value for your money is fantastic! Rustico also boasts a lovely ambiance. The service is remarkable; the staff is respectful, courteous, and quick. I was pleased to leave a 20% tip. I highly recommend trying the stuffed jalapeños—they are truly the best I’ve ever had! Our meal for two, including an appetizer, was less than $40. Chef Felipe even surprised us with a delightful chocolate tres leches cake layered with chocolate ice cream and topped with whipped cream for my wife’s birthday! This place is definitely a top-notch destination!

I ordered the cilantro chicken, and I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was! I didn’t anticipate the chicken being so flavorful. The homemade chips and queso were fantastic too! I will definitely come back if I'm in this town again.

The food was exceptional! It’s such a blessing to have Addison, Texas-level cuisine right here in Texomaland. Now we no longer have to drive three hours to Addison for top-quality meals. We enjoyed the fish and shrimp, beef burrito, spinach enchiladas, and a cheesecake-filled flour tortilla. Thank you!
I dined there for the first time today, and it was an amazing experience. The brunch was outstanding! I even had the chance to meet the chef, whose passion for food is evident and truly impressive. I highly recommend Rustico to everyone; it's probably one of the best restaurants in Grayson County. It's absolutely worth the trip, even if you're not nearby.
The service here is exceptional. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the owner genuinely cares about making people happy. He is humble and kind, treating the community like family. You couldn't ask for a better dining experience, especially during happy hour.
