This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed. The sushi was fantastic! I kept it simple with the LA sushi roll and the crunchy roll, both of which came with a side of spicy mayo. My kids, aged 3 and 6, enjoyed every bite of the sushi as well. What Victoria Garrett doesn't like about Asahi Japanese Sushi Grill:
Hibachi was sub par. Fried rice was dried out not fresh. Shrimp and scallops are of poor quality. Vegetables I'm assuming are not fresh seem to be a frozen mix of some sort. They also ordered the chicken and steak hibachi, which they loved, especially with the double rice and veggies. As for my hibachi experience, I ordered the steak with double rice and veggies—the vegetables were great, but the steak was a bit chewy for my liking. The customer service was excellent; the staff was attentive and friendly. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back!
