In their defense the restaurant was quite full. My main course was burn (uneatable): I was hungry so I ate the side as I did not feel like waiting again to get a new one and mentioned it when they cleaned the table. I took a creme brulée as dessert and it tasted like ready-made. In compensation for my burned food they offered tea/coffee to me and my 2 friends, which is nice but did not cost them much while they made me pay for the full main course (19.50 euros). In most restaurants they would normally be more elegant and not make you pay for a burnt dish. One of my friends took the mussels and found a unopened broken one in her plate. The smell in the restaurant was very strong of burnt, which on the one hand I understand as it is a rotisserie but on the other hand still sticks to your clothes. All in, I will not return
The first time to Braadstaal and we will definitely come back. The Rotisserie chicken is amazingly very juicy and well seasoned. The dishes I saw at other tables also looked pretty good, the next time the Calamari must try. Beautiful wine map and beer selection. A little on the pricier side, but it is worthwhile for the cozy mood and delicious food.
Decent food with attentive service in a nice setting.
