During my week-long stay in Delton, I didn’t feel like cooking, so I decided to stop by Tujax. I can confidently say that the food lives up to the glowing reviews! We had salads topped with homemade ranch dressing and croutons, along with bluegill, fries, and potato salad. This place has an excellent chef Tues-Sat! Go in-person. The only reason for three stars is twice this week I wanted a delicious pizza from Tujax. I called 8 times over an hour from 5-6 PM from two different phones, and let it ring over 15 times. Noone answered. I tried to order online and their FB/website doesn't seem to take orders. Delicious food, an intriguing and unexpected menu, and a retro 70s bar and pool hall atmosphere.
The wife and I had Wednesday night dinner and had really good meals. For the quality and quantity of each meal, we thought the prices were right in line. Service was friendly, timely and helpful, as this was our first time there.
Tujax has been a local favorite for quite a while. Wally is an excellent server, but he can get a bit overwhelmed at times. This was my first experience with the pizza, and it was definitely a disappointment. The sauce is a heavy, thick tomato, and the cheese blend was rather bland. I ordered sausage as one of the toppings, but there were only a few tiny pieces scattered here and there. Jack usually offers a fantastic menu with outstanding dishes, but I would recommend steering clear of the pizza.
Waitress was overly confident we'd absolutely love the food.Got our food before our chili cheese fry appetizer l, whick were bery dry and no flavor and barely any cheese. The chicken and waffles were meh, waffle was way over cooked and hard, chicken was super dry, the sauce was very good though. The olive burger was pretty decent, the coleslaw I got with it was so weird I ate it all just to try to figure out how they ruined coleslaw. The waitress was not loving her job or the cooks. Nice little tavern. Greeted quickly, waited for stable for 10 minutes, hung at bar while waiting. Bar tender came over quickly and gave us service. Staff were friendly, moved quickly and older (experienced) so they know what they are doing. Lasagna was amazing along with the bacon. Burger. It will definitely be a new hang out for us.
