My husband and I love this place. The atmosphere is lovely and chill, the serving staff are extremely pleasant and frequent the tables often with fresh tea. The chefs are clearly talented and send out food that is not only visually stunning but taste amazing. We have come here at least once a week since discovering it, and two nights in a row this week. A special thank you to the staff for making this evening extra n... View all feedback.
What Katrina Smiley doesn't like about Maguro Sushi:
Really disappointed. Have given them multiple chances and every time we order on line when we get home the items are not correct. Partly our fault for not checking before we leave. But I just spent $15.95 on a “special roll” and all I got was a mango roll. We will not go back View all feedback.
The service was excellent and efficient! I enjoyed the gyoza, which was quite good. However, I was disappointed with the quality of the fish and rice. I ordered the double tuna maki, and it had a very strong fishy flavor, while the rice was mushy. It's a shame because it's such a lovely place with friendly staff. I might consider giving it another try in the future.
It was once one of our favorite places, but the quality has declined significantly. The service has also been lacking. I’m really disappointed; I’m not sure what happened, but we won’t be coming back.
I'm not sure what has changed in the past few months, but this used to be our favorite takeout restaurant. Unfortunately, our last three orders have been quite disappointing. On two occasions, some of the dishes didn't taste right, but tonight was the worst. All the rolls fell apart when we tried to pick them up. The Crazy Roll and California Roll were practically inedible, with the fish tasting as if it had spoiled, and the Crazy Roll was only cut into four pieces instead of the usual eight. The Spicy Tuna Roll had a flavor that indicated the tuna was past its prime. Even the pork gyoza had a fishy taste, suggesting cross-contamination. As someone who is pregnant and only orders cooked sushi, I couldn't take the risk with most of our order. It’s really unfortunate because we loved this place, but I doubt we'll be able to trust it again.
I found the prices at this sushi restaurant to be quite high for the quality of the food. The chicken teriyaki was grainy and left an unpleasant texture in my mouth after chewing, which made it feel like I was eating low-quality chicken. On a positive note, the ambiance was lovely. Unfortunately, the servers didn’t seem to pay much attention. All in all, it was a disappointing experience.
The food was amazing and the service was outstanding! We live in Coquitlam and took our motorcycle to enjoy the delicious dishes. The people of Ladner are lucky to have such a fantastic Japanese restaurant. Thank you for a lovely evening on July 8, 2023. Wishing you all the best! - Gloria Amir Dadpour
