The New Vegan - Delray Beach

The concept is great, the menu is decent but the portions and heartiness of the sandwiches could use some work. I've had plenty of vegan sandwiches and these just fall short with the assembly and creativity. The skinny little white bread triangles feel unsatisfying and I personally can make a better sandwich at home, considering the price point at this place. For convenience it's a nice vegan spot in Delray, but I use it for emergencies only.

I drove all the way from Coral Springs, a 35-40 minute drive, because the restaurant's website said they were open. However, when I arrived, the doors were locked. I tried calling multiple times but there was no answer. The sign said to order online, but when I attempted to do so, the website said they were no longer accepting orders. I was really disappointed because I had just seen someone walk in, although I wasn't sure if they were a worker or not.

We've been to this place multiple times at least 10. Their food is good but the service is very slow, so you can sit for 30-40 minutes and only then receive your food while the place is empty. Today I called them in advance to order waffles and avocado toast for my kids so by the time we arrive it's ready. They told me that they can't take my order over the phone because they're scared that we're not gonna show up and they will lose money. So I went on their website and there is no option to order. So I called back and offered my card for them to make sure I will pay and they told me that they only want to serve happy people. Just to let you know I was happy before I called you and this is the conversation with you, unfortunately, you didn't introduce yourself, that made me unhappy. Always like to support vegan places but not this one.

This was the most incredible place. It's such a shame that their Delray location closed, but hopefully they will be opening a new spot soon.
