I had a wonderful experience at this famous deli. The staff was rude and often got my orders wrong. All of the employees seemed miserable and the customers were also unhappy. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Famous Market Deli:
There are some nice products available, but there was very little assistance in locating them. The soup was good, but unfortunately we had to leave without it when we couldn't find the regular Dr. Brown's Cherry Coke we were looking for. There was no one available to help us. View all feedback.
If they are looking for kosher or not kosher products, this place is great. they have a great appetit counter, better than any super market. they have cheap roasted chickens that are delicious. they are very helpful and clean. that's my place.
If you are lucky and get an accommodating counter person, the ordering experience is acceptable....If not....look out!Food quality in my opinion is fresh and tasty if you are a fan of ethnic (Jewish) appetizing. We make a weekly pilgrimage from Greenacres.JUST GOT THE COUNTERMAN FROM HELL ON MONDAY. INSISTED THAT I ASKED FOR 1 LB. OF TUNA SALAD WITH CRANBERRY'S INSTEAD OF MY REQUESTED 1/2 LB. WHEN I REQUESTED THAT HE TAKE OFF THE EXCESS HE RELUCTENTLY DID BUT REPLIED AT .64 LB. THAT HE HEARD ME ASK FOR THE POUND AND HE ISN'T GOING TO REMOVE ANYMORE. LUCKILY .64 IS CLOSE ENOUGH TO .50 SO NO BIG DEAL. YOU BE THE JUDGE ON HOW TO TREAT A CUSTOMER THAT SPENDS AT LEAST $45 A WEEK ON GOODIES!
First, the only reason I gave one star is because you can't give a zero. They have a large variety of ethnic foods, which is what brings in their large crowds. Compared to some other REAL delis their food is just mediocre, but their prices may be more reasonable. BUT if your idea of having fun is standing on line at a deli counter or checking out with the cashier and you enjoy being abused, then this is the place for you! I recently witnessed a screaming match with an elderly woman who said that her number was next on line and the man behind the counter yelled at her and told her that he's the only one that is allowed to call numbers. A back and forth yelling match ensured and another man helped her. When she complained to him about being disrespected he told her to contact HR, which was meant to be condescending. I asked for very thin slices of cheese and asked to see the first slice he refused to give it to me to see and told me I wasn't allowed to have it So, I refused the cheese order. I asked for turkey breast and he placed it on top of the counter where I couldn't reach it. I asked for another sliced meat and he told me he wouldn't give it to me until I took the turkey off of the counter first. The very thin sliced turkey breast I requested was actually very thickly sliced which I didn't realize until I returned home. I believe he did it on purpose. I would return it but they would probably throw me out of the store! The last time I was there he asked me where I was from before he took my order. I don't understand why people patronize this place. They are abusive and ungrateful for the business that these local people provide them. I addition, they added a 2.99% surcharge for using your credit card. Nothing is worth this experience. I am done with this place for good and you should be too!
Open for kosher and non kosher products. Always seems to have what is needed and desired. Enjoyed greatly turkey pastrami and Thai eggplant salad. Bought a black and white rye for first time since childhood and unfortunately finished it within a few minutes. Have to go back and get more especially since it was kosher.
Nice neighborhood kosher style supermarket. Fresh deli items both kosher and non kosher. Their deli has some homemade favorites. Really wanted meat knishes. Unfortunately, they were sold out. Purchased fresh veggie and schmear cream cheeses, kosher salami, gefilte fish and beet sweetened Gold's horseradish. The cashiers must be imported from NY/NJ because they have the attitude. No fresh baked items, all packaged. Too bad. Would be a compliment to have a fresh jewish bakery onsite. Nothing says buy me more than the aroma of fresh baked goods.
