Proper Italian food, not a pizza in s... read more Really enjoyed my meal here last night. Thankfully local friends recommended it, it's not very easy to spot on the street. Proper Italian food, not a pizza in sight! We had vitello tonnato crostini with our drinks (a nice house red for me , then there was an even split on our table of the seasonal menu. Two of us had the antipasti (generous helpings of Serrano ham, Pancetta, another ham, mushrooms, yellow beetroot, fennel, ribbons of carrot, red cabbage... I'm forgetting something... yum yum. And LOVELY bread. The other two had slow cooked tomato soup which disappeared completely. Then I had guinea fowl wrapped in pancetta, and a plate of 4 different Italian cheeses to finish. Two friends had sole meunière which was perfectly cooked apparently delicious nobody seemed to want to share what was on their plate ; The pear tarte tatin went down well too. The seasonal menu, at 30 euros with choice of starter, choice of main course, choice of dessert or cheese, is great value given the quality portions. Extensive à la carte menu wine list. Staff incredibly helpful and thankfully (for me English speaking. I would have liked an English language menu but that's my fault for not learning Dutch ; . Lovely evening. Thanks.
