While the Butterfly Museum itself is absolutely stunning and a delightful place to visit, the cafe and restaurant do not live up to the high standards of the museum. It’s a shame, as the cafe could be fantastic if managed more effectively and professionally. The staff often appear annoyed when customers try to place orders, coming across as rude and unfriendly. The food lacks flavor, and both the ambiance and cleanliness of the restaurant are in need of improvement.

We were going to check out the butterflies, but wanted a bite first. We weren't expecting much, especially after being seated in the dated, slightly dingy dining room, but the friendly server more than made up for the atmosphere. We had a cup of clam chowder and we split a lobster roll. The lobster roll was really just a TON of lobster meat, barely dressed with mayo and zero filler! The server said since it was close to closing time, she told the cook to get rid of the lobster on our sandwich! It came with a side of excellent potato salad. The server gave us two important tips; potential traffic delays on our way to the airport in Hartford, and that McDonald's serves a lobster roll in their northeastern restaurants!

The establishme... read more This charming little cafeteria is a perfect stop during your visit to the butterfly museum. I tried the burger, and it was absolutely delicious. The establishment was very clean and offered two seating areas: one with a restaurant-style atmosphere and the other designed for a quick, grab-and-go experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and brought your food to the table once it was ready. The butterfly pictures adorning the walls created a lovely ambiance, making it feel like you were still immersed in the museum. If I return to this location, I will definitely be having another burger!
