Description

This old-time diner along Highway 17 may not impress with its outdated decor and facilities, but delivers on delicious, homemade, and generous portions at affordable prices. Tired-looking staff hustle to provide fast, friendly service. Despite the diner's run-down appearance and need for upgrades, the food remains top-notch - especially the bacon and the homemade soup. The charming, nostalgic atmosphere evokes a time when quality mattered. Whether you're a traveler passing through or a local looking for a satisfying meal, this diner promises a memorable dining experience reminiscent of classic American roadside eateries.

We have visited this park two times - once in the spring and once in the autumn. Both visits were wonderful experiences.

Gorgeous park with some of the best walking trails I have experienced in my 50 years of exploring nature.

Stopped in because last year had a good meal. Hot roast beef sandwich was large, tasty with lots of gravy. Virtually identical to what I had 1 year ago.

Stopped for lunch for the first time in a couple of years. Coffee was excellent. My spouse had a bacon cheeseburger which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had the "Tree Top Burger" which was great, and the bacon in particular was really good. This is your basic diner, catering to patrons from the bus lines and to passing travellers and specializing in fast service. The washroom areas could do with some fixup for missing and broken floor tiles and general maintenance. This is not a high-class eatery - just a very good one. Prices are low to moderate, cutlery and dishes clean and in good repair. Main seating area is all booths except one table but there is attached dining room for those who want to have tables and chairs. There are several signs warning you that this is a "cash only" operation. There is an ATM which the servers said is permanently out of service; and the credit/debit card machine was not working and they were unsure when, if ever, it would again be available. Expect to pay cash, but at least their prices mean you won't need a whole lot of it. Sorry we have missed returning to give place another chance for so long - we will be back.
