I visited for lunch on a Saturday and was pleased with both the quality of the food and the service. We tried the quiche with salad and a salmon toast, and both dishes were professionally prepared. It's definitely worth a visit, and I’m looking forward to returning for dinner in the future. View all feedback.
What Robert Amos doesn't like about Cakes Ale:
Overall, a decent experience. The food is tasty, but not good enough to justify the price. The service was great, and the location on the Decatur Square is nice, but the interior of the restaurant is a bit uninspired, much like the menu. I will most likely not be a regular here. View all feedback.
On Saturday to lunch. good quality eating and service. we had a quiche with salate and lachstoast. both courts are prefessional. it's worth a visit. we look forward to a future visit at an evening meal.
This was nice, but not outstanding. The food did not blow us away as per Gunshow for example. Our waiter was wonderful and made an excellent wine suggestion. The bread was delicious and the food was nice enough except my husband's salad leaves were so salty he could not eat them. Who makes a salad salty? Weird.
We celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary at Cakes and Ale after several positive referrals from friends. Everything we ate was delicious, the staff was very attentive and the ambiance was lovely. Overall, we had a great experience and plan to return in the future.
The food and service is excellent we are never disappointed.
We had excellent service and an excellent meal. We had the house special Trout which was amazing. We split 2 small plates and 2 appetizers. The tomato salad, the arancini, and the homemade ricotta with lemon were soooo delicious.
