The Great Commoner - Dearborn

This was my 3rd time back to the Great Commoner. Each time going, I ordered a different meal. Food is very good. Unfortunately, each time I’ve gone the service was terrible. Took my 10 yr old daughter out for her birthday. Was ignored by several waiters for 10 mins after being sat at a table. Was not many people in the restaurant, seemed to be their slow period of the day around 2:30 so I was shocked that no one came to the table for so long. Had to ask the hostess if my server even knew I was there. Waited a few more mins after that until someone came. Server Brought our drinks with the main meal as well as our salad. My coffee was a pour over, not cheap but arrived cold so I assume the waiter let it sit there…. Sadly my last 2 experiences eating there were equally as bad. And with no apologies from the staff…. Very disappointing. Food is great, but I will not be returning again.

If I could give the service more stars I would. Ahmed Beydoun is the best server I have encountered in the US.The food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful. My family had an amazing experience.12/30/23Please allow me to add that also Chandler was as wonderful as Ahmed at yet another beautiful experience for dinner.

Super busy, we had to sit at the coffee bar because they were so busy there would be a 45 minute wait to sit at a table. Coffee was tremendous. Food outstanding!

Came for Sunday Brunch! There was a 15 minute wait, if that. We were able to be seated quickly and got our order in. Ali was a great server and we inhaled our food. The breakfast burrito was very tasty and so was the B.B egg and cheese, the potatoes on the side are so good with a little kick. I would recommend both.I also got the lavender Lemonade and it’s very great! I enjoyed the refreshing taste of this lavender lemonade.
