I had the chicken roast steak for lunch and it was excellent tender and delicious! we also had buffalo salisbury with gravy and it was also delicate and tasty. Crystal was our server and was pleasantly attentive and efficient while leaning on all the opposite! good eating and service and good prices. we have also enjoyed the historical photos and descriptions. What User doesn't like about Gem Steakhouse Saloon:
my wife and I hoped for a good evening meal, but her steak had a strange texture that I guess of mechanical and chemical tenders, but amazingly it was still quite hard, I ordered the prime rib medium rare, but it came very rare, the kitchen took it back and it came out better, but it was pretty gristy. I would have been embarrassed to serve the guests either meat. Maybe we knocked off one night. View all feedback.
The Nugget is a comfortable place to hang out, enjoy a first class cocktail and eat some of the best pizza I ever had. Unlike the wealth of loud, illuminated and rugged bars that cover the streets of Deadwood, the Nugget is spacious and airy, with vaulted ceilings and natural light from the large windows. Large selection of music games, but quiet enough that you can relax and comfortably talk. Our bartender Tripp was talented and professional, and really an amazing guy to talk. We stayed several hours and had a great time!
The Nugget Saloon is a must visit to make your visit to Deadwood complete. Very low key friendly atmosphere with classic Pop/Rock filling the room, perhaps a bit on the loud side. I asked for an Old Fashioned cocktail and was told that the Smoked Old Fashioned was a signature drink of the the bar and was far superior to the common version. Sure enough, the bartender pulled out a piece of cherry wood then ignited it with a propane torch right on the bar and let the inverted glass soak up the smoke for a minute or two before completing the drink. Yes indeed it was quite tasty and that 's the only way I would want it at The Nugget Saloon on my next visit.
The service here is fantastic! The bartenders continuously kept checking in with us and kept our drinks full. The “spicy” **** Mary was delicious, almost like lunch in a glass. We will be back the next time we’re in the area.
The bartender from Minnesota with the blonde and pink hair was AMAZING today . Loved her attitude and down to earth personality . Good fast service and good drinks . Went back for pizza and fries . Pretty stinking good
Be sure to ask the locals for recommendations on where to find good food! We always have pizza on Friday nights no matter where we are, and this place did not disappoint. The signature smoked old fashioned cocktail was delicious, and it was entertaining to watch the bartenders craft it.
