I'm a big fan of crèpes and when I saw this food truck at Kite Beach with pictures of crèpes and coffees outside, I was thrilled! The food truck looked white and clean and the seating area was also pretty neat; though it could be a bit more well maintained. I ordered a Sweet Crèpe with Nutella and Banana. It was delivered hot and it tasted really good. We also ordered a Sweet Crèpe cone roll with Vanilla ice cream and Strawberries and that was good too. The service was prompt. I feel it's a bit pricey for what you get, but the whole Kite Beach area is like this... so can't complain. Surely this is one of the few dessert only places on this stretch... so go for it
An early morning walk led us to find La Vedette's food truck open and serving both sweet and savory crepes and waffles to passersby. The best feature of La Vedette is not just the beach-facing view looking out into the Arabian Gulf but also the Provence-themed seating area they put together behind the food truck. This charming addition might not float everyone's boat but it makes for a more quaint atmosphere. LE QUICHE CREPE arrives in a triangular box stuffed with gruyere cheese, mushrooms, spinach and eggs in bechamel sauce wrapped in a spinach crepe. It's warm and comforting. We also made one of our own waffles. WAFFLES WITH FRESH BERRIES AND BAKLAVA was a sweet tooth breakfast where tart fruit gave way to crunchy sweet waffles wrapped in sweet baklava. It is easier to eat this like a handheld toast snack than together with a knife and fork. The watermelon juice is also freshly pressed and very good if you like watermelon juice. I would gladly come back to La Vedette again and again for the view and for the food. The crepes are stronger than the waffles but it could also be my fault for making one of my own vs just going for a choice from the menu.
Went for a walk in the area and was a bit late, this beautiful truck is parked in the beach. The staff outside approached us to have some sweets or coffee but i felt more like savory, had a look at the menu and we choose the Cordon Bleu Crepe, recommended by the chef, honestly the presentation and packaging was amazing, and the crepe is very big, but the filling was a mix of veal, chicken... tasteless... nothing memorable. Maybe, if i feel like crepe or waffle i’ll try again but to have a classic: cheese crepe or nutella waffle
European comfort food is well known globally, be it Fish Chips from England, Donner from Turkey or Pizzas Pastas from Italy, something which is conveniently available across streets for a hungry food lover like me wherever I go. But to find French food on the street is a difficult one. Now, that people know that I review restaurants in my endeavor to find out the best food joints in UAE I get calls from all kind of restaurants serving different cuisines. Recently, I got a call from a restaurant called, La Vadette, a street style Bistro dishing out French food. La Vadette is located at Business Bay Kite Beach in Dubai. I have never tried French Cuisine and this was a first for me too, so I simply couldn’t refuse when they invited me to their Food truck at Kite Beach. It was an amazing view coupled with great taste. Ocean on one side and French food on the other, can’t get better than this. I started with salad served in a waffle cone. Now that was something I have never seen. The presentation was beautiful. La Fatoush is a famous Arabic salad and I simply loved it. It was fresh and the flavors were really amazing. This was followed by their classic Corden Bleu Crepe a Big Waffle Burger. Yummy Crepes, savory and sweet. Good food always puts me in a good mood and that is exactly what happened after I visited this place.
