Just wow! It began with the complimentary valet- dudes were polite, friendly and opened the door to Sueno. Atmoshere: chill but enticing vibe. Savory culinary scents were uplifted by slight wood-smoke from the open view kitchen. Service: exquisite! Shout out to Alejandra! Food was fresh (tamales and ceviche) and flavorful as were the drinks and dessert. Obvious care and passion by the staff for their craft. Not inexpensive but the total experience is well worth it and leaves you ready to enjoy the rest of the menu! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $50–60
This was my first time at Sueno and the food was delicious. I got the pescado tacos and they were great. They have a spicy kick but it was so flavorful! I can’t wait to come back ! I also love the complementary valet which puts the icing on the cake for top tier customer service. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Such a cool place! We tried it for the first time and were pleased with our experience! Definitely will return again! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $60–70
**AMBIENCE: 5/5** This place is absolutely stunning! It makes you question if you're even in Dayton anymore. The decor is impeccable and incredibly Instagram-worthy, featuring a cactus wall, a beautiful bar, and an open kitchen. It's worth a visit just to experience the atmosphere. **SERVICE: 5/5** The service was outstanding—efficient, friendly, quick, and even humorous! The staff struck the perfect balance of being attentive without being overbearing. **VEGAN FOOD: 3/5** Now, this is where I felt let down. As of April 2022, they do not offer a vegan prix fixe menu. I called ahead, and the person I spoke with mentioned it was seasonal and not currently available. However, she assured me that many items on the regular menu could be adapted for vegans. Here’s what I sampled: 1) **Guacamole and Chips: 5/5.** Their guacamole is genuinely amazing—super fresh and bursting with flavor, enhanced by a touch of Japanese seasoning. 2) **Sikil P’ak (Pumpkin Seed Dip): 4/5.** Very good; it had a light, whipped, creamy texture. The tortilla chips were fantastic—fresh, crispy, and lime-infused. 3) **Sweet Potato Tacos (Taco de Camote): 4/5.** These were veganized by omitting the crema, and the sweet potato was delightful—charred, smoky, and spicy. However, the portion was quite small. 4) **Papas (Smoky Potatoes): 0/5.** Unfortunately, they were utterly unpalatable. Overall, while Sueño excelled in ambiance and service, there is definitely room for growth in their vegan offerings.
The chef here is incredibly talented and truly brings magic to the dishes. They can easily cater to vegans, so if you're looking to indulge, be sure to call ahead to set up the vegan prix fixe menu. We enjoyed a fantastic meal for $65, which included six courses, and it was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. It rivaled our previous experiences at high-end restaurants like Le Cirque and Mesa, even before we became vegan.
