Promptly greeted seated on a Friday night. They were expecting a party of 20, so we were glad to order promptly. They still have to work out how to present their bar beverages, as we always have to ask about rotating drafts wine offerings. The food, as usual, was pleasantly plated and very good; were also comped an appetizer as the servers were initially distracted by the large group coming in. Not necessary but welcome nevertheless. 2 drinks 2 entrees tip $49.00.
I have been here multiple times and have ALWAYS had excellent food and service. Every time I have tried something different off the menu and have walked away happy. Oscar and his crew go above and beyond what is expected. I would recommend this to everyone.
What a nice, independent neighborhood restaurant! People are very friendly and committed. The food was excellent and the portion sizes were generous. We had the salmon and the fish chips. Both were good decisions. Personally, my fish chips dinner was one of the best I had. The fish was excellent (cod) and the dough was light and excellent prepared. Then there's desert.... we were too stuffed to really try desert....but forced us to try bread pudding, the mouth was good. Next time we can start with deserts.
The food is very good, but you have the feeling that the people want you out very quickly. I am sure it is not the waiter/waitress fault but a policy. Before even opening and serving the bottle of wine have you made your selection was immediately uttered. While still in the middle of the appetizer, the main course arrived. While in the middle of eating the main course Would you like a dessert . As I said the food is very good, but something is amiss about the pace.
