The Original Fried Pie Shop - Davis

Good for a quick stop.. Quick (off-peak hours), easy, lunch with some interesting lunches like Spinat Chicken.

During a road tour to visit the Arbuckle Wilderness, we stopped at the original Arbuckle Mountain Fried Pies site in Davis, Oklahoma. I'm telling you, these fired cakes weren't hot bags. They were fresh, filled and delicious. A sweet cake and a half sweet cake filled enough. Arbuckle Mountain Fried Pies had a wide selection of delicious and sweet cakes, with fillings such as breakfast, pizza, apple, chocolate, potato and cherry just to name a few. All cooked in peanut oil, the cakes were under $5 each with a discount for ordering a dozen. Beverages were also at a fair price, more in line with a gas station than a restaurant. In nice weather we ate our cakes outside. I enjoyed the pizza and chocolate cake, even with the chocolate cake causing a mess. So you know it's good, right? Parking there was a little pain, but overall it was worth the stop to have some Arbuckle Mountain Fried Pies.

Pros and Cons led to a vote. Cons: can be ridiculously busy; slow when you get a fresh cake; not the nicest people; expensive; little inside dirty positive:: pie crust is exactly what you are looking for in life; Fruit fillings are decadent and sweet, but not absolutely cloying; Cream and cake fillings have a nice taste, but have this punctual cheek type of sugar go on stick with fruitcake. Meat cakes are like pancake filling. Cream, pudding and pecan pies are much too sweet. But this place is a certain attempt as you go through. This crust is wonderful!

Great cake. I was here when I took my child to the camp. I heard about it, but I didn't come down so often, so I had to try. I have a chicken cake from the hook! Large crust and large filling with exactly the right amount of pepper. Also had an apricot and a chocolate cream... very good. Don't try to drive and eat. Take a few minutes, sit down and enjoy your cake!

Fried Pie Shop is a great place to take a break. This little fried pie shop is an old school treasure. I highly recommend the pecan fried pie or the coconut cream. Their blackberry fried pies are great too. it's definitely worth getting off the highway to try their fried pies.
