Visited with friends on a Tuesday evening! We weren’t expecting it to be busy, but we booked just in case! Glad we did!! It was busy with people eating a few folk at the bar! They offered a deal on mains, which had a fabulous selection! The also offered specials, which one of my friends had! Firstly the warm welcome when you arrive from Matt Izzy. Then Tim came over to welcome us share their new menu! The service was... View all feedback.
What 19beth123 doesn't like about The White Horse:
Have read previous reviews and cannot agree with the comments about great food. My cod was hot whilst the huge bowl of ratatouille that it sat on was luke warm. With so much ratatouille it would have been nice to add some crusty bread. My... View all feedback.
We booked a table for Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. The friendly and attentive staff, especially Matt and Izzy, provided excellent service. The roast dinner was cooked perfectly, with Yorkshire puddings that were light as a feather. The desserts were equally delicious, including crumble, double brownie with cherry compote, sticky toffee pudding, and a mocha creme brulee that we quickly devoured. We enjoyed a selection of coffees and tea in the relaxed bar, where our dogs were spoiled and made to feel welcome with some doggie biscuits. We wish Matt, who is leaving in April, the best of luck as he is a valuable asset to the business at the White Horse. Safe travels, Matt. We will definitely be back to experience more of the lovely hospitality and food.
We recently discovered that White Horse has reopened, so we decided to have Sunday lunch there with another family last weekend. We were so impressed by our first visit that we went back last night with some visitors from Spain. Once again, we had an excellent experience. The service was friendly and attentive, and the menu offered a variety of pub favorites as well as some unique dishes. We highly recommend trying the risottos, either the pea for a starter or the haddock for a main course. Personally, I found the steak burger to be the best pub food I've had in Northamptonshire. The prices are reasonable compared to other local gastro pubs. We give it 5 stars across the board as everything we have experienced on our two visits has been perfect. We are looking forward to spending some time in the garden during the summer months. Great job to everyone at White Horse!
Amazing, walked in and even though it was busy we received a warm welcome from a very friendly chap. Overall service was amazing, food was beautiful and atmosphere cozy. My six year old son also enjoyed his meal and colouring.
The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with a welcoming log burner. The menu offers a variety of options, including choices for vegetarians, at reasonable prices. The food was tasty and the service was friendly. Despite being quite busy for a lunchtime at a village pub, I would recommend making a reservation to avoid any disappointment. They also host speciality evenings regularly, so it's worth checking in advance and booking for those. There is ample parking available in the car park.
Visited with family and friends for Christmas Eve lunch. We booked and pre ordered in advance and, despite some minor issues with the reservation, the table was ready when we arrived. Christmas menus can often be underwhelming, but everything here was spot on. The service was very good: friendly, attentive, but not over-the-top. The food was all superb in terms of preparation, presentation, and value. Having enjoyed our Christmas Eve lunch so much, I’m sure that we’ll be back soon!
