While many patrons rave about the delicious food, like the slow-roasted pork belly and accommodating vegetarian options, others have cited issues with service and unexpected charges, such as a hefty service fee. The attentive staff generally receive high praise, creating a welcoming atmosphere for families and groups alike. However, some diners have experienced inconsistencies in food quality and preparation, particularly with certain dishes. Despite a few criticisms, the restaurant’s charm and dedicated staff keep customers returning for both meals and casual drinks in its beautiful garden.
Have been using this place for 9 years, and never had a bad pint. Staff are always very friendly and accommodating. A lovely place to dine with exceptional food and equally lovely to come for just a drink. It's dog friendly and has an amazing garden for the brighter days with what I can only describe as a view the gods should be proud of over the fields. What more could anyone ask for....... Hats off to all the staff and management that keep the place as good as it is.
We went for Christmas Lunch, which promised to be amazing! (From the menu at least). The food in the most part was good. Service was poor, very slow an inexperienced staff, we guess that is due to lack of staff wanting to work on Christmas day. We paid £100 per head for the meal, there were four of us. When we came to pay the bill we were slapped with a £40 service charge! This was never mentioned previously and at least was expected and at worst greedy. We always tip for good food and service, but this was expected. It has left a very sour taste for all of us. I emailed them, but never received any response. We will certainly not visit again.
Amazing Sunday lunch… Again, from the delicious food to the exceptional service. We will be back again soon.
Really lovely meal for a cross generational group with different dietary requirements. The staff could not have been more patient and understanding. We had a wonderful meal and will certainly return.
The Sunday lunch experience was subpar. The roast potatoes were extremely hard, and the pork belly was nearly impossible to cut. I was dissatisfied with the fact that there was an additional charge of 4.50 for extras like stuffing or cauliflower cheese. The desserts were small and overpriced.
