What Ruby704 doesn't like about The Red Lion Kilsby:
The village pub is charming and we were greeted warmly by a young staff member. The eating area was a bit cold but nicely decorated. Our food arrived lukewarm but still edible. Unfortunately, after that initial interaction, we didn't see any other staff members. No one checked on our meal or offered us more drinks or dessert. We had to initiate everything ourselves. The red lion is under new management and they can say it. the decoration has become easier even though it is still in transition. Despite that, the owners have kept what made the lion a big pub. Dogs are very welcome, like children and the atmosphere and the cheer with which they were always met are still there. eating on a limited menu, as they sit in it, was really good. I had the sink and chips, that's my thermometer for everyone, if I like your sink and chips, then I know we have a winner. it was the highest dollar and at £8 it is worth it. the children had the burgers and they were 'heavy' real flesh and beautiful yes I ended the children! woman president l had the fish and commented on the best fish she had in a very good time. the first impressions are important, and for me they have made a very favorable. the future is bright.
A few times last month for lunch (on Saturday) and dinner during the week and really enjoyed eating. tonight we took friends and had a 3 cursor and it was fabulous. the wee was great. the service was, as we have always experienced, friendly and spot on. it would absolutely recommend to visit and compared to other local pubs around daventry is the best.
Eat absolutely delicious. lammschaft Sunday roast, small chicken roast for my daughter and fish finger homemade) for the little youngs. coloring and games for the children and safe playground in the garden. modern building house chic with large log burner and chalkboards with prosecco cocktail menu....our new favourite place
Three of us went for lunch on 1st February. I had the chicken breast with olives, green beans, potato, etc. this was first class and full of flavour in every bite only negative comment I couldn't eat it all. Tony had battered cod and home made chips the batter was crispy and the chips small but perfectly formed. Rob had sausages and mash huge portion but every morsel went. So yes we will definitely go again and have no hesitation in recommending The Red Lion Kilsby.
