Nestled in a valley in Northamptonshire near Daventry is the Midlands' largest canal and boat marina. This picturesque location is particularly favored by traditional narrowboats and houses a boat rental company as well. The area is also renowned for its annual Braunston Working Boats Festival, which features beautifully painted boats from a bygone era. After a long walk along the canal on any given day, a stop at Braunston Village for their famous fish and chips is a must. The fish and chips are freshly prepared while you wait, and they are absolutely worth it!
Great value and the fish and chips were very nice. I didn't give it 5 stars because my chips weren't crispy, but overall, everything was enjoyable.
The staff is very friendly, and the food is beautifully delicious, always freshly cooked and incredibly tasty. People really need to try this chip shop—it’s amazing!
Fantastic service, huge portions, and honestly, the best doner kebab I’ve ever tasted!
This is a great spot for fish and chips, fried in dripping, which might not appeal to everyone, but it adds a fantastic flavor. It's conveniently located near the canal, making it easy to reach if you're arriving by boat. When we visited, they only accepted cash, so be sure to plan accordingly.
