Contribute Feedback What Tana Smith likes about Wahlburgers:
Stopped in for the first time a week ago for dinner, came in again today for lunch. Burger was consistently AMAZING. Me and my husband got Juicy Lucy, which had cheese in the middle of the patty, with lettuce and mayo. Burgers were cooked perfectly medium, definitely had a ton of flavor, was juicy as the name implied. Kids ate free in Sept they had a hotdog with fries and the other had the mac and cheese with fries,... View all feedback.
What Barbara Sommerer doesn't like about Wahlburgers:
It wasn't special. Hy-Vee burgers are way better at this location. I'm guessing when you go to their other restaurants your paying for the experience. I'm disappointed because they took the table service away if you order Wahlburgers and I could've went through the driveway for that tiny sad burger. Cute presentation though. View all feedback.
Wanted to try Wahlbergers so made the trip over. Very small being inside Hy-vee and it's extremely over priced!! If you like to pay $12- $14 for a burger that we both said) taste like Wendy's then hey this is the place for you! One pic is the grilled chicken sandwich for $12 other is their version of onion rings more like onion bits) also over priced! Luckily we happened to be there during happy hour and appetizers were $5. We tried the chicken egg rolls they were tasty but you get 3 cut in half. The bar is small as well. Definitely a one and done.
Extremely salty. We couldn't eat the onion rings, too salty. The wife had bacon on her burger, it was too salty. I had 2 of wife's fries, too salty. The burger was salty, but had good texture. The manager asked how was everything. We told him too salty. He was nice enough to reduce our bill. They say the burger has government cheese. I hope so, I wouldn't pay for that cheese.
It wasn't anything special. The burgers at Hy-Vee are far better at this location. I suspect that when you visit their other restaurants, you're really paying for the experience. I'm disappointed because they removed the table service for Wahlburgers; I could have just used the drive-thru for that tiny, unimpressive burger. However, I will say the presentation was cute.
Once we ordered our food, we both opted for the "Juicy Lucy" — I chose tater tots, while my husband went for onion straws. We found a seat, but had to switch tables because the one we initially sat at claimed to be sanitized; however, it clearly wasn’t — there were ketchup stains and crumbs everywhere. The floors could have used a good sweeping too, as there were straw papers and mud scattered about. When our food arrived, it looked nice, but the burger itself was lacking in flavor. As a Brit, I regularly use Worcestershire sauce, and I couldn’t even taste it here. I mentioned to my husband that some additional spices or pepper would have really made a difference, and it felt like the burger was missing something essential. There was hardly any mayo, and it could have used a slice of tomato and pickle to round it out. My husband's onion straws were cold and limp, while mine were lukewarm but still tasty. Overall, I was left feeling disappointed, especially given the price of the burger — it needs more flavor or a reduction in price. I still think "Culver's" offers a better burger. We gave it a try, and maybe we’ll come back in the future if they can improve on these issues, as I feel they are missing a great opportunity here.
In September, kids eat free, so one of our kids had a hotdog with fries, while the other enjoyed mac and cheese with fries. Both of them finished their meals without any complaints. We will definitely make this a regular spot! The tables were clean and sanitized, and the staff was very attentive and polite.
