My first time at here wasn't too shabby! First and foremost the Philly and the cheese fires with peperjack cheese sauce where amazing! Now the buts, the cook was cranky, not very friendly. My first time at here wasn't too shabby! First and foremost the Philly and the cheese fires with peperjack cheese sauce where amazing! Now the buts, the cook was cranky, not very friendly. The open kitchen concept is cool only if the kitchen is really clean, there was build up in places I could tell haven't been cleaned in a while. The girl running the register was very nice. Yet I did notice her wearing flip-flops which I am pretty sure isn't allowed in food service. Lastly the overall cleanliness of restaurant could use some work. There was only a table of 3 and myself there at the time yet tables were dirty and garbage at condiment station was overfilled. All in all I would eat here again and give them a second chance.
Great location, staff, and food! My wife and I visited for lunch between errands on a Saturday. It was her first visit at a PepperJax, and she liked it. She had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, I had the seasonal PepperJax Chilli, and we split an order of chips and cheese. All of it was excellent, and served as ordered. After we left, I noticed that other reviews mentioned problems with dirty or broken items at this location. I did notice a trivial item that needs adjustment, but everything else seemed neat and well maintained. Our lunch was $26. PepperJax is usually expensive by my standards, but this is pretty close to what is charged by nearby restaurants.
My wife and I decided to give this a try last night. We walked in at 8:56pm, although they close at 9pm during the week. They never made us feel like we were imposing, despite the late arrival. The sandwiches were great! Big too! We loved the Au Jus bar that you helped yourself to. On top of everything, the manager (Samantha) was awesome. She was very pleasant, and took time to stop and chat with us. We really liked her, and the food was top notch! We will definitely be back.
We had the Chicken burritos, my son had it with the spicy ranch. The girls loved their corn dog kids meals (batter is always iffy but here it was actually done right). Husband had the Philly bowl. Delicious food and great friendly service, and it hit the spot! Thank you!!
It has big shoes to fill when it calls itself the home of the best Philly cheese steak. But, it tries hard. It's true their signature cheese steaks are quite good. But the best? The jury is out on that one. On the other hand, if you want little better than mediocre cheese steaks, bowls, wraps, salads in a hurry, away from Philadelphia, in nice clean surroundings, this is your place. Enjoyable cuisine, great environment and excellent service, support the food. Nice amenities, too...like the number of choices, sauces etc to make your grill creation personal.
