What Keith Warner doesn't like about Mission Bbq:
Let me start with the positives. The staff was very friendly. The food came out quickly. It?s a good value for BBQ. The place is well organized and nice inside. The portions were good for the money as well. The less good, the baby back ribs were dry, salty and of low quality. The briskets was slightly better, but also salty and served more like pulled pork, than brisket. The cornbread was devoid of flavor, the baked... View all feedback.
Went to a graduation party and the food they had was catered from Mission BBQ. I loved all the food so much. Im from Detroit MI. Happy to know we have one in MI. All the BBQ sauces were excellent. My favorite is the brisket. Must try!!!
Mission bbq is an average to good chain bbq joint. I went on a Thursday afternoon for dinner. I ordered the 3 meat sampler with the xxl upgrade which added 2 sides and a drink. I got the brisket, ribs, and jalapeno and cheddar sausage. My sides were Mac and cheese and coleslaw. They give you a piece of cornbread with the meat sampler. My drink was lemonade. I will work backwards from this list. The lemonade was good, not too sweet, not too sour. The cornbread is the mostaverage cornbread you can imagine, though nothing to complain about. The coleslaw was ok, slightly dry but the finer shred on the cabbage was a nice change from the typical course shred. The mac and cheese was good though the cheese saucewas ever so slightly broken. The crispy top layer in the mac and cheese was very nice. The sausage was a touch dry like it had been sitting all day. It was very flavorful and tasty. The brisket was pretty average by itself. The cook on itwas just about perfect and the flavor was ok. It really came alive with the sauces. The ribs left something to be desired. They were ok but as it appears I got the end of a rack, they were a bit overcooked and dry. The flavor was goodthough. I sampled the baked beans and they were ok. The nice thing about those were the big chunks of meat in them. I also sampled the banana pudding. I'm not much of a banana pudding person but this was pretty good. There are several typesof sauces to use from sweet to smoky to spicy. I sampled all the sauces and highly recommend them if you like sauce on your meat. The customer service was fantastic with the cashier explaining how everything worked and what went with what. The manager was nice. They would come around every so often to make sure everything was ok. They gave my friend a free banana pudding but not me. The consistency was not that good on the meat as my friend had a great experience with hisribs as such that they were not dry or overcooked. They were big, and meaty and juicy where m
