What I630UJclaudiod doesn't like about 1990 Lounge:
Ambience is ok, but kind of “cheap” decorations, music and entertainment have been nothing really special, my friends and I had much higher expectations. We ordered a Miami “spice” menu, tartare sause extremely acid, seafood and meat were just ok, the dessert was a portion for one divided by three… In summary, we all expected much more for the value we paid (btw, Miami Spice menu ended up to be more than $100 usd per... Located in the Ritz Carlton you cannot charge dinner to your room though), we went for the Tuesday Rock N Baga 80 's night. There was no band, but great 80 's music played softly at a good, listening and dining volume until around 10:45 pm when the show started about 10:50 pm when the music started blasting. There were colored lights flashing and people came out with flashing LED lights. A man on the stage blasted puffs of dry ice smoke out across the dancers. Two performers, a woman in a lighted up bikini and a man wearing some fun LED shades lip synched and performed to two Guns and Roses songs. The music stayed at a high volume, and we were glad we had already ordered and eaten before the show. I really liked the Pampelone drink which was made with tangerine juice. My husband enjoyed the Palmier which was a really good rum served over a huge ice cream. The Lavendon had a lot of celery salt around the rim, and I kept thinking of poultry seasoning while I sat there. The complementary focaccia bread was really good. I got the Ravioles Del Plin au Castelmagno mijotées à la truffe noire $61) which is house-made tiny raviolis with shaved truffles over it. The cheese had a stronger taste then I am used to. I don 't like mushrooms especially the texture, but the truffles had a more delicate taste and were pleasant. My husband got the Branzino which was a whole branzino grilled with thyme, lemon. The waitress worked hard to de-bone and filet it. It came with a spinach salad and mashed potatoes. The price was MP which we later found to be $140. I don 't remember the names of our waitress and assistant waiter, but I included their pictures, and they were absolutely outstanding! It was not very busy yet when we were there for dinner, and our assistant waiter kept our water glasses topped off at all times and a finished plate never sat on our table more then 15 seconds. The assistant waiter 's service was even better than the Five Diamond restaurants we have been to, so thank you for that. The waitress it was her birthday that night) checked on the show time and upcoming reservations and allowed us to remain at our tables until we actually saw the show. When we called, we were told the show was at 8 pm, but it actually did not start until almost 11 pm, maybe because the restaurant was not busy until around 9:30 pm on the Tuesday night in October when we went. We had already eaten dessert by that point, and our assistant waiter was keeping our water glasses full, but we ordered another round of drinks while we waited. The restaurant got packed with young pretty people in short, tight dresses and was definitely a happening, rocking place at 10 pm. Bring some paper money for the lady in the bathroom who keeps it neat and had a number of products for primping. It was also her birthday on the night we went.

The atmosphere of the place did not disappoint! Food was good but on the more expensive side for what you're getting. Only downside the waiters were in a rush that we finish up and leave our table. It was so obvious that they finished our service in 1.5hrs and once we paid and were finishing up our drinks they kept on checking on us to free up the table. Unfortunately it did dim our experience quite a bit, such a shame.
$2300….yes, $2300 was added to our bill for “family style service”. And an additional 5% of administration fee!! When asked the manager told us it was a mistake with the table next to ours! But no explanation as to what this is for. Absolutely unacceptable. Be careful if you go, I’m pretty sure they try with many guests.
Amazing ambiance and music. My server Marian from Bulgaria was amazing along with Tony food runner. The service was excellent and outstanding. They have every Wednesday 50% off of all bottles and the menus is excellent. They have different varieties of wines and champagnes. I will definitely recommend this place.
