Chow! A Taste Of South East Asia - Feedback

Was User at Chow! A Taste Of South East Asia a mag?
My old parents and I had decided that this was where we wanted dinner. Place was packed but we could sit to the side drink a drink and relax, while waiting for a table to free up. Our young waiter was a little new but, dinner was delicious and worth waiting for: both plates of food were perfect. Desert wasn't half bad either! View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Chow! A Taste Of South East Asia:
My friend that lives in Darwin took me here when i went for holiday a month ago. Place is really busy but luckily we got a table for two of us. I heard this place is famous for the laksa so i did try. It tastes ok , not wow. My friend has the Pho and I taste it a bit, it was so so.. perhaps Darwin’s style of pho, I won’t order this next time. Staff are ok no complaints for me , they did a good job it was busy night. This is worth a visit , the food is authentic and bursting with flavour , loved the local fried fish with pad thai and washed down with a gin street cocktail I was in foodie heaven
Great food, interesting range of drinks, comfortable outdoor dining in a relaxed atmosphere. Good service.

Great food, great wait staff. Terrible attitude of staff member sitting customers. After waiting a while to be seated we were asked if we had a booking which we didn't and told that they could fit us in. There were several tables empty and only emptied out more while we were there. Our waitress Rebecca was the best thing about our visit, thank-you.
We called in here for diner after the Darwin cup. A young man on the free bus recommended it. He was right! Lovely selection of Asian foods. Very reasonable prices. The staff are slow and not that engaged in their job but that seems to be the standard in Darwin from my experience. If you go here, get dishes and share them as none of us could finish our meal and would've appreciated that advice from the waitressing staff! Overall I would eat here again.

This is a very busy and popular eatery on the waterfront. Day 1 I ordered seafood laksa which was great full of flavour and seafood. Day 2 I ordered crispy banh mi which was extremely disappointing. The roll wasn’t particularly crispy. The filling was very poor with hardly any pickled vegetables, mayo or herbs. There was zero chilli. The pork itself was okay. Worse was the 25 minute wait for the order and the $14 price. So, a very mixed experience. I honestly can’t recommend the banh mi, but laksa was good. Choose carefully.
We both had the seafood laksa which was good but the real standout were the pork and prawn spring rolls. We are really glad we found the time to eat with Chow!
Fantastic service and food which was great value for money. We kept on coming back. A well-coordinated workforce that worked extremely hard and were always polite.
Had to wait for table to be cleared before getting table on arrival (small niggle). Drinks and food were delicious and prompt. Lovely atmosphere thank you
Excellent asian food. They have great Coconut crushes that have coconut and ice which you can add some flavours and add some alcohol of choice as well. Food was excellent and flavoursome. They served us quick and food came pretty promptly. Located in the Waterfront area of Darwin, seemed pretty popular.
