Stopped in for the first time because I had an appointment across the street. Ordered a caramel macchiato and received a caramel latte. I would have ordered food because I was hungry. However, none of the three long-haired blonde servers had their hair tied back. One was actually eating behind the counter after she emptied the trash. The place is beautiful and was clean however, not sure if I'll return.
Summary: Glitchy website, slow serviceThe first time I tried going for an acai bowl during my break, it wasn't too busy but they told me it would be a 30-minute wait so I left and went to Dunkin instead. The second time I tried to plan ahead and order online, but the acai bowl wasn't an option so I picked a yogurt parfait. The website was super glitchy on the checkout page so I could not enter payment info, but thankfully my friend I was meeting with was able to place the order. Even with ordering ahead, you have to wait in line to get the food. I can see this being reasonable for things like the parfait and acai bowls that need to be in the fridge, but the other food items are bagged and ready to go. It would be nice if they had a pickup area like other places with online ordering. Some operational changes could make for smoother service. If I want to wait 30 minutes for food I would go to a restaurant. The lack of being able to do a quick pick up will keep this cafe from becoming a go to lunch spot.
We walked in excited and hungry to try a new place, unfortunately we waited so long for just 2 acai bowls!! everyone who came after us got their food before us! When we got our bowls they were melted like they have been sitting there. The acai base was disappointing, i spent 21 dollars for 2 bowls to go to waste because of the awful taste, and to top it off it was disgustingly stuck in our teeth and stained our lips a purple color, i’m upset.
Cozy little coffee shop with excellent service. I tried their cinnamon roll, and it was just what I needed! Overall, I'd rate the food a 4 out of 5.
I visited this coffee shop one afternoon to savor a latte in the lovely sunny weather. The interior is cozy, with plenty of outdoor seating available. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a large, colorful menu board that was very visually appealing. I decided to order an iced caramel latte with soy milk, even though they offer a variety of unique flavor options like mudslide and cupcake that you don't see everywhere. The latte was delicious! I also tried the veggie hummus wrap, which contains cheese, so it's not vegan—just a heads-up for anyone with dietary restrictions. Overall, I had a pleasant experience. My only minor concern was that the tables and counters felt a bit sticky.
Tucked just off I-195, this quaint coffee shop blends standout iced and specialty drinks—especially nitro and chai—with solid sandwiches, cookies and healthy breakfast options like avocado toast. Indoor and outdoor seating, reasonable prices and office catering add appeal. However, experiences vary: slow service, long waits, occasional food mix-ups, limited menu near closing, and some hygiene lapses have been reported. It’s ideal for commuters and breakfast seekers who aren’t in a rush; check hours to avoid arriving as the kitchen shuts down.

Java Shacks Food and customer service is fantastic! Our office orders them at least twice a week. We recently ordered several items; Salads, an Acai dish and turkey/avo melts. The staff is friendly, the food was delicious, and the owner Andrew is more than accommodating. Thank you.
Great cafe!! Breakfast sandwiches and acai bowls are so yummy
This delightful and cozy local café has a welcoming atmosphere and a generous staff.
This delightful little coffee shop is conveniently situated just off I-195. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Although the food options are somewhat limited, there are still enough choices to put together a satisfying breakfast. They offer a standard range of coffees and flavors, as well as a small cooler stocked with bottled beverages. The prices are quite reasonable. The food we ordered was tasty, and while the wait time was a bit longer than I anticipated, it didn’t bother me since I wasn't in a hurry. There are seating options both indoors and outdoors. Overall, I would definitely come back when I'm in the area.
Very nice quaint place for coffee and food. Really nice to have a local business coffee shop on the other side of 195 in Dartmouth. Have excellent healthy options. Avacado toast is finally local! Will agree with other reviewer that the Nitro is excellent. Nice roast. Very mellow. Flavor shots are available for multiple coffee options for both hot and cold. Brewed and espresso.

I recommend checking out The Nook in Fairhaven if you're looking for a genuine coffee experience. Unfortunately, when I ordered a large black iced coffee, I found it to be incredibly acidic, bitter, and overpriced. It was a real letdown. A decent coffee shop should offer quality coffee, don’t you think? Additionally, the staff was unfriendly and seemed to lack enthusiasm.
I decided to give Java Shack another shot, but sadly, my experience was disappointing once again. I truly want to enjoy this place, but there always seems to be some problem. The prices are steep, and even when they have what I want to order, the staff often appears to have an attitude.
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The staff seemed unfriendly and unmotivated, and the coffee was unsatisfactory. I arrived about 25 minutes before closing on a Sunday, but the female staff were busy vacuuming and mopping, making it difficult for me to reach the register and hear the cashier's instructions. When I attempted to order food, I was told they weren’t serving any, as they would be closing in just 20 minutes. As a truck driver with limited food options, I ended up with some stale cookies and an iced coffee. Unfortunately, the coffee was quite bitter and lacked any condensed milk. It was clear that the staff prioritized closing the shop at 1 PM over providing decent service to paying customers. I would recommend avoiding this place; they really don’t deserve to stay in business.
Java Shack is a charming little coffee shop just off I-195. The staff were very friendly. While the food choices were somewhat limited, there was still enough variety to enjoy a good breakfast. They offer the usual selection of coffee and flavors, and there’s a small cooler with bottled drinks. Prices were reasonable. The food we ordered was delicious. Although the wait times were a bit long, it wasn’t an issue since I wasn’t in a hurry. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating available. Overall, I would definitely return if I’m in the area again.
I love cozy, local coffee shops. The staff at Java Shack are fantastic, and the atmosphere is wonderful.
