What 746brucew dislikes about Crab Shell:
I visited this pub on a day out in Dartmouth with my wife, young son and another family of 3. Terrible service from the off with the waitress shouting at me for using the toilet inside. She then took our order as if it were a chore for her, without so much as a please or thank you. Bought the drinks without a word and then complained at the end when we wanted to pay cash. We overheard her talking to other customers in... View all feedback.

What a great little fund that was! freshly made seafood filled sandwiches with super friendly service, what more could they want? I'll be back next time to try more!
The best smoked salmon sandwich I had. Well, the second was. the first was torn by my hand through a möwe! the owner didn't warn me. she was happy to sell me another, though
A brilliant little sandwich shop. Very friendly people and super tasty sandwiches.
Beautiful little pub, nice friendly staff, ice cold beer and good eating, always when I was there, it was a pleasant experience
There is a beautiful outdoor seating area to take their drinks directly over the street.
The Bucket and Crab bar in Dartmouth offers a mixed experience according to recent reviews. While some customers have been put off by rude service and subpar beer quality, others have praised the fresh and tasty crab sandwiches and friendly atmosphere. The waterfront seating provides a picturesque view, perfect for enjoying a nice glass of beer. The pub follows COVID protocols diligently, making guests feel safe while dining. Overall, while some aspects may not be perfect, the Bucket and Crab bar seems to be a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, with its unique charm and selection of refreshments making it a standout destination in Dartmouth.

Always made welcome, mainstay of our visits. Good choice of ales Added a seating area outside on the quayside
We were visiting Dartmouth as part of a day out on the steam railway from Paignton. Having explored the town we were looking for a bite to eat and came upon the Bucket and Crab bar. The welcome was warm and efficient and we were given a table in the window. We chose the crab roll, and were not disappointed. The lady behind the bar said that they are caught by a father and son team, and the mum does the picking of the crabs. The rolls were super soft and fresh and the crab delicious. Would definitely recommend for a light lunch bite.
Arriving in Dartmouth after walking from Brixham in the rain, we needed a warm pub, with a warm welcome...and that's what we got. We had a couple of pints and watched the rugby....excellent.

This is a good pub for a drink or two. It seems to be the locals choice and it offers a wide range of refreshments and lots of different gins. Whoever set this place up as it is now was obviously an avid fan of rugby and boxing or the amazing collection on display was strategic in its resourcing (probably with Welsh connections) it's a great place.
