A group of six of us were in the garden centre planning a proposed landscaping job for the family. One of the group said the cafe made great cake so we stopped shopping and had a light snack. There was a good range of cakes, sandwiches, scones and biscuits. We noted there was breakfast available (this was 11:00am), the pot of tea and various coffees were also of good quality. We were pleasantly surprised at the range... View all feedback.
What Trek674689 doesn't like about The Mill At Millbrook:
I agree with a lot of reviewers, this has gone down ever since the cafe moved elsewhere and now looks like a canteen. I used to love going to the old one although it was overpriced already then. Even this review page comes up with a picture of a drab training centre with tables as their only advertisement? Come on. You can do better. With all the plants available?! View all feedback.
My friend and I visited this restaurant as a special treat for my birthday and Christmas. The staff were very welcoming and seated us at our table. The table was beautifully set up and they brought us pots of tea right away. Just 5 minutes later, a cake stand filled with sandwiches, scones, and cakes was brought to us. The staff were attentive and made sure our tea was always topped up and that everything was to our liking. The scones were warm, large, and absolutely delicious! They also let us know that we could take leftovers home in boxes. The spread was so good that we both decided to take some cake and a mince pie home for later. The prices were very reasonable and the staff truly made us feel special and welcome.
I visited with my cousins yesterday, we were totally spoiled by Mel, Shara and Caron, nothing was too much trouble for them, they were so attentive. The tea was huge and delightful, though thoughtfully were were provided with takeaway boxes...my tip would be to enjoy the sandwiches, but hold fire on the delicious sausage rolls (I enjoyed mine later in the evening! , so as to allow room for the delights to follow scones, jam and cream, cake, mince pies and trifle! All beautifully presented.
I went two days in a row with different friends to enjoy the special Christmas afternoon teas. Caron warmly welcomed us and took the time to ensure that everyone had plenty to eat and drink. She was a very polite and kind lady, and the service was quick and efficient.
A friend and I booked to have Christmas Afternoon Tea here after previously having an excellent lunch. We were not disappointed. The service was friendly, attentive but not overbearing. Our table was laid out beautifully including a green bottle of elderflower presse which was included in out Tea, we were also told we could take it home if we didn’t want or finish it. We both had coffee and when I went up and paid for another later on Caron, our waitress, apologised for not replenishing our drinks and promptly gave me a refund and then brought the coffee to our table! The tea itself was delicious and very generous in size, when Caron noticed we were struggling she promptly brought us take away boxes so we could enjoy the rest at home. The whole experience was excellent and we were never rushed to leave. Thank you Caron for making our regular Christmas get together so enjoyable. We will return for more lunches and of course Tea at The Mill.
I went to The Mill for Christmas afternoon tea with my elderly mother and a friend. The afternoon tea was excellent and catered well for two vegetarians and one meat eater. Our waitress Caron was very friendly and helpful. My mother, who has had afternoon tea at the Ritz before, said that the food at The Mill was even better. We all agreed that the mincepie scone was the best scone we had ever tasted. We will definitely be returning.
